I miss this place so so much. They have the best espresso milkshakes, and they are the kindest most wonderful people. I live far away now but I hope I can come back soon.

Surprised at all of the good reviews. Very deceiving! I’ve been passing this place for months and finally went in. I ordered a wet burrito and tamales. While I was there, the man working told me they were making fresh rice and it would be awhile which I was fine with. I asked for extra sauce but I had to go back inside once I got to my car because there was no extra sauce in the bag. When I got home and tried it, the rice was very light and undercooked. It was literally still crunchy in the middle and tasted terrible. The burrito was even worse. There was minimal sauce for a wet burrito and when I bit into it there was mainly rice. In the picture it shows the only meat on the top left side. It was supposed to be birria but it was SO dry. The meat tasted old and had no consome so it wasn’t birria at all. My entire burrito was rice and yes the “fresh” rice they were making. The beans were also nasty. When I poured the salsa on it, it came out as a clump. Extremely disappointed to say the least. I ended up just throwing the tamales away. Don’t waste your money!

Soooo good! As native Phoenicians we’re always looking for good Mexican food in Seattle. This place was delicious and we’ll definitely be back!

Best tamales EVER! Nice size and great price. So flavorful. I work nearby, so I’ve ordered cold ones to take home and share, too. Their other menu items are good, but the tamales are my hands-down favorite. They have vegan and vegetarian tamales too!

The chilaquiles were delicious! The chips were nice and thick and never got soggy. Best ones I’ve had

When that craving for tamales hit, this is our go to place. Our house is a mixture of adults and a toddler with meat/non-meat eaters split down the middle and this place has delicious options for us all. I personally LOVE their Verde sauce and am constantly contemplating how I can incorporate it into all parts of my diet (I digress).
We usually get our food to go (see toddler reference above) but the place is usually not packed and always has a homey feel.

If you are like me and appreciate funky little neighborhood eateries with good food, then Cafetal Quilombo is the place for you. It is located among a nondescript sliver of small businesses on the busy street of Colombian Way in South Seattle. I wish I could tell you more about the menu, but I am stuck on the few things that I really like and only buy at this location. They have the absolute best queso dip of any I have ever tasted. The portion is generous and is flavorful with just the right amount of spicy kick that I have never tasted in other quesos. I have had chilaquiles with Carnitas (pork) and with chicken and both are excellent, generous portions with lots of meat and dressed with lots of ingredients. I love a good chili rellenos, however I think theirs has just a bit too much breading for my taste. They have good tamales, and while many think they are some of the best in Seattle, I consider them good, but not necessarily the best. They have pupusas, which are not found in many Mexican eateries. But they lack variety. Each time I’ve ordered them the choice is only bean and cheese. But they are good. If I can break away from my usuals and taste other things, I will let you know. In the meantime, hope I meet you at Cafetal Quilombo.

A MUST try!! Such a cool lowkey atmosphere inside with all of the art, plants & music. Love their coffee, esquites are the best I’ve ever had, and pupusas & tamales are delicious. It smells great just being in here! And unique fresh items in their fridges for purchase like mangoladas, salsas, etc

Stopped by to grab a quick bite & drink after an appointment. The food was tasty, the portions were generous, and the gentleman at the counter was very polite. My wife ordered the chilaquiles and I had a breakfast burrito. The craft drinks had a good flavor. Very nice visit.
