Manila’s first sukiyaki bar is here!

I tried out their Signature Inari Sukiyaki Don. I’m loving the tender and slightly sweet slices of meat. Mix and pour the egg to get that additional delight. By the way, you get a peek of how they prepare this mouthwatering dish as you dine 🙂

We tried both types of the sukiyaki, the one over rice and the regular soup kind, and I find that the soup version is far better for me. Having it over rice makes it kind of too ordinary and too similar to gyudon, I think the sauce should be kind of more concentrated to avoid it being just gyudon.

The soup version is much more to my liking, we tried two different kinds of beef but honestly I couldn’t really tell the difference. For me, either go for the second cheapest one or go for the most expensive one. Go for the extremes, don’t straddle the in betweens

Tokyo Style Sukiyaki ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ – generous pieces of Australian High Choice striploin in a sweet soup with plenty of mushrooms and veggies

Kyoto Style Sukiyaki ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ – generous pieces of Australian High Choice striploin over rice served with soup and softboiled egg

Crunchy Kani Salad ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ – creamy salad with crunchy kani served large and fresh

Hojicha ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ – nice and milky but still has the nutty bitter bite of hojicha

Have to be patient if there are no seats left as it is only bar-style sitting in a small place but well worth it

It was an alright experience. I tried their Salmon Teriyaki and Spicy Tuna.

The salmon could use more elements to break the umay from the teriyaki. And I was a bit disappointed with their spicy tuna. It was 80% crisp and 20% tuna. The size of the tuna was sad too.

Good Rob Mag spot whenever you need your quick sukiyaki fix. Offers many different meat options depending on your preference but pretty happy with most basic cut I went with. Great service too.

I only tried their spicy tuna roll 4pcs and I find the flavor a bit too much on my palate.

I liked the dining set-up though.

We noticed this place because it looked different from all the restaurants in the Food Hall. It had a ramen style vibe with open kitchen where you can watch the staff prepare the meal in front of you.

We went here on a weekday for dinner and we were seated immediately.

They had two staff was friendly and helpful.

They had two types of Sukiyaki: Kyoto-Style and Tokyo Style.

For four people our total bill was about Php 2,100 but since there was a 25% discount when yout pay using Go Tyme Bank (which we had) you get 25% off! But if your bill is at Php 2k your discount will automatically be capped at Php 500– which was actually a sweet deal!

Kyoto-style had rice and glass noodles. The noodles were blanched on the broth, then they pour over the broth on your rice.

Tokyo Style was the straight up Sukiyaki with broth and glass noodles.

Feel free to browse the menu I uploaded.

I didn’t enjoy the gyoza though mainly because of the taste and mouth feel. The sauce was more sour (vinegar taste) than your typical gyoza sauce. Probably next time I’ll order other side items on the menu because the rolls looked generous and delicious.
