I made a reservation at Half Nelson for dinner from out of town, and we were not disappointed one bit! I have dairy, gluten, and peanut allergies and our waiter was incredibly versed in the menu and immediately knew what items the chef could modify. He shared that they are working towards a fully gf menu! I had lots of choices available to choose from. I had the pork collar el pastor and it was the best meal I’ve had in a long time! My boyfriend had the short rib and was raving about it the entire time as well. To top it off, the drinks are also phenomenal. Worth the stop and I would highly recommend!

The epitome of fine dining but in a relaxed atmosphere. The employees are all friendly, unique, and down to earth. Our server, Alexis, was professional and attentive without the slightest bit of stuffiness! Better still, the food is incredible. As good as anything from a Michelin rated kitchen, hands down. Make this a must of you are anywhere in the area! My husband had a 32 Hour Braised Short Rib while I had their house made Goat Cheese Agnolotti. Superb!!!

This is a high end restaurant that offers a variety of different dishes all made with the utmost care. I started my meal with the crab balls (these where amazing) and went with a dark red wine that paired really well with my main course of steak and potatoes. The steak arrived exactly as I had requested, medium well with a great marbling that added a ton of flavor to the dish. The size of the steak was impressive as well, they rolled out a 32 oz steak that took up the whole plate. All in all I would recommend making this a stop if you are in the area. Thank you for a great meal.

Where do I start with this place! The food is always incredible – Chef Connor puts his heart and soul into creating absolutely incredible dishes for the guests here. Seeing his creativity on a plate is a true treat!!

Bren is always making up the best cocktails in the area also and is a hoot if you get to sit at the bar and get to know her! She is attentive, kind and checks in often.

And lastly, Raven is so fun and sweet, always making our dining experience the absolute best. Her hospitality is top notch and truly, I wish every server was like her.

Half Nelson – thank you for making meals memorable, having a beautiful atmosphere, hiring the best talent and giving us the best dining experience in town, consistently.

The chef changed the crab beignets unfortunately. Now they’re smaller, fewer, with a crunchy coating. Not bad, but pale in comparison to the original. The atmosphere is upscale & we’ve enjoyed all the entrees so far. The steak tartar was delicious as well. Not the easiest place for a handicapped person. Street parking & no handicap spots & a long slanted ramp to get in. It’s an old building. The menu changes regularly which is a plus since it’s rather limited in size.

half nelson has been so consistently amazing every time ive gone! this past saturday, we stopped by & our server was awesome, our drinks were perfect & our meals were just SO freaking good! the ambiance in there is so lovely as well. definitely one of the best restaurants in the QC ❤️

Please note: all reviews are based on Michelin one star. While, most of you probably think that 10’s exist, they do not. A score of 9 is a transient state that is achieved in a shared moment of bliss, and is unstable. Even the best restaurants consistently may only rate 9.25 overall.

Potato salad 8.95/10 I don’t like potato dishes often so this is the unicorn on the menu.
Beet Salad 8.9/10 needs more mass

Shrimp & Grits 8.75/10 great Tehas spin with whole hominy

Pasta la Vista 24 mo Gouda 8.25/10 a great dish.

Visited for dinner midweek. The menu’ had a nice selection of interesting cocktails and wine. We started with the fried crab Binet and a garlic salad. The crab cakes were decent. The salad was average. For main dishes, we had the salmon, burger and pork chop. The burger was extremely overcooked and dry. The salmon and pork chops were average. Well cooked but basic. They were not particularly interesting or flavorful. Given the price point, I’d expect more interesting preparation.

Atmosphere was nice. Spacious and reasonably quiet for an open space. The waiter was attentive and pleasant.

Just passing through Davenport and so glad we picked this place to have dinner! We thoroughly enjoyed the crab beignets and garlic kale salad. The salmon was atrocious
Atrociously delicious! And the CauliflowerTiki so so satisfying! The Pinot was the perfect pairing! Staff was excellent!
