*How can I tell if an animal is really a service animal and not just a pet?
To determine if an animal is a service animal, you may ask two questions:

Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability?
What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?
You may not ask these questions if the need for the service animal is obvious. Examples include when a dog is guiding an individual who is blind or is pulling a person’s wheelchair. In addition:

You may not ask about the nature or extent of an individual’s disability
You may not require proof that the animal has been certified, trained or licensed as a service animal
You may not require the animal to wear an identifying vest or tag
You may not ask that the dog demonstrate its ability to perform the task or work

I just wanted to first put this here for the business as I was asked incorrectly about my service animal-I really wasn’t in the mood for a fight.

I chose this place because it has a big parking lot where I could park the large trailer I was hauling.
The building has a drive thru which seemed very efficient. It was very busy (black friday) but they took our orders quickly and our food and my drink came out pretty quickly. We both ordered breakfast burritos and got a green and red salsa- the green has a pickled flavor but no spice, the red has a little spice. They were pretty good mixed on my burrito, it added some flavor. I ordered a dulce de leche latte and it was pretty good.
The inside of the building is nice, it seems new and modern with some cute decor touches. The old firetruck is very neat. The prices are reasonable and the food was filling (the tortilla on the breakfast burrito was the thickest almost bread like tortilla that I’ve ever had)

Staff always so friendly, good food, it was a little rough when they first opened the new location. But now several years in and they are back to greatness!! Best brisket burrito in town!! Oh and the green salsa is to die for!

Genuine customer service that leaves you loved and helped every time you show up you were greeted with a warm smile. The staff there truly care about the customers and the food is some of the best around that makes you keep coming back for more!

Had a great burrito and great coffee!! That salsa though literally tasted like grounded up tomatoes and water. Green sauce was just as bad. It is unbelievable how terrible both salsas are. Get the burritos and buy salsa elsewhere

Homemade tortillas was the advertisement I saw when I first came to Brownwood 5 years ago. I was very skeptical as every business advertises as the best or “homemade” and you arrive and it’s a disappointment. I decided to give it a try and I still remember the 1st bite I took in that parking lot because it was absolutely delicious !!

They have since moved to another location and I have come back from a 3 month European trip and all I could think of overseas right before I was coming back was that this would be my FIRST MEAL OFF THE PLANE!! And it was and the owner lady was the one that handed over my breakfast burrito. She had no idea I had been dreaming of that moment for months on the other side of the world.

This is true customer service. I drove up about 5 minutes before closing and she still took my order with a SMILE !!

Love this place!!

This place has plenty of space so even when it’s busy, I never once had an issue with not being able to find a seat. Commongrounds is the only coffee shop (that I know of) in Brownwood/Early besides Starbucks and unfortunately, the coffee here is not my favorite- I’ve tried their coffee 3 or 4 times and it wasn’t for me. I feel like the coffee here tastes a little watered down and I don’t get the roasted coffee bean flavor that I crave.

As for the food here, it’s a hit or miss. I tried their BLT sandwich but I would personally skip it. The bacon was too crunchy and hard (it reminded me of those bacon bits that you put on top of salads). If that’s your thing, go for it but it was personally not for me.

Something I thoroughly enjoyed from their food menu was their breakfast burritos. I’ve tried their green chile chicken w/avcado burrito as well as their brisket burritos and they were both delicious! And when you add their homemade red and/or green sauce, it’s even better. That being said, I tried their ‘bowl’ version and it’s just the filling of the burrito without the tortilla andI didn’t think it was worth it.

Overall, Comongrounds Coffee is a great spot to catch up with friends or get some work done (they have outlets towards the back as well as wifi). Not to mention, the workers there are friendly and helpful! If you visit, I highly recommend getting their breakfast burritos!

I was told that the kitchen shuts down at 1:45pm.
So the 1 item ordered, was refused. Then she proceeded to give service to the vehicle behind me who ordered the same.
I will take my business to the restaurant across the street from now on.
Do better people! Try integrity out…

This old fire station has new life as a casual coffee house named Common Grounds. Meet here to relax, catch up or just meditate. Breakfast burritos( the bacon one I got was full of bacon. Hard bacon but still ,more than most other places in town will give you ),coffees ,lattes ( they actually look and taste as good as Starbucks except cheaper ). all served here. So if you dont feel like driving way to Early to get your specialty drink fix, stop here. I’m not knockin Starbucks but this place is bigger, cheaper and heck of a lot closer.
Parking is plentiful. If you are wheelchair mobile, this place has wide spaces so no worries. Kid friendly. Expect to pay about $10.00 a person for beverage and burrito. Well worth the trip. Drive through moves fast too.

This is a nice little coffee shop I visited while on a road trip with my bestie. The coffee shop was nice and had plenty of seating. I loved the old fire truck they had displayed – complete with a plushie Dalmatian sitting in the front seat. The iced latte I had was very nice and the breakfast taco was very good and filling!
