Really great attentive staff, very accommodating. Atmosphere was wonderful and not too loud to have a decent conversation with friends. Food was amazing and I only wish I had found this place earlier…you need to drop in if your local

My husband and I came in for fish fry on a regular Friday. I had the spotted cow beer battered fish. Husband had garlic Parmesan baked cod. Both were amazing and excellent portion size. We had the option of potato pancakes or fries. Came with coleslaw and of course we tried their Wisconsin Brandy Old Fashioned. Delish! We plan on returning to eat from their regular menu – I have my eyes set on the Notorious PIG (pulled pork sandwich). Spacious, clean, total Wisconsin bar and restaurant vibe. Felt right at home.

We just tried this place after changing owners. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. However, my wife’s brandy old fashioned tastes nothing like it should have, and the same goes for my brandy manhattan. My walleye was the driest fish I’ve ever had. My wife’s pork sandwich was still pink inside. Also, had a tap beer and it was as flat as water.

Called to ask if they had a fight on, we were told yes, came in and they said they didn’t have it on. Ordered food since we were there thinking we would watch on our phones, 25-30 minutes later they managed to serve me Mac and cheese without cheese. Couldn’t have gotten the bartenders attention even if I was walking back to grab my own beer, and took asking three times and another 20 minutes to close my tab after asking twice with two bartenders and 6 other people at the bar top. Definitely not an experience any other local establishments could replicate without a significant lack of effort.

I recently visited The Breakaway while on vacation and was genuinely impressed. The atmosphere is a perfect balance between welcoming neighborhood bar and relaxed restaurant—comfortable, and lively with music and games. The staff is friendly and attentive without ever feeling rushed, and they make you feel like a regular even on your first visit.
The food was excellent, with generous portions and fresh flavors. My picky children were also impressed, which is a big deal if you know what I mean!
Overall, The Breakaway delivers exactly what you hope for in a local bar and restaurant: great service, tasty food, and an easygoing vibe that makes you want to come back. Highly recommended!

This was our first visit since the new ownership. It is a typical sports bar atmosphere, very clean, nice music. We went for a Friday fish fry. We both had the Spotted Cow Beer Battered Cod with potato pancakes. It was delicious and the portions were generous. The people were very friendly. Our server, Dan, was very attentive and friendly.
One drawback was that the tables are small, tight for two let alone 4, but maybe they would let you put two tables together. We will be back to try some of the sandwiches on the menu.

Okay I’m trying to be nice.
The service was amazing, we had a young waitress that was nothing but sweet and helpful. The atmosphere, also very inviting.
Now the food…. We got the fish special, my wife and I ordered two separate kinds and they messed up and gave us two of the same(which again the waitress offered to comp) but it was fine. But when receiving these plates, the fish was two pieces the size of a campfire marshmallow and was nothing to write home about. The fries were absolutely disgusting, if I had to guess they were purchased from Walmart or something of the sort and they weren’t fried they were definitely baked and just were not good at all. The soup… definitely scooped into a bowl and reheated in the microwave rather than sitting on a warmer.
All in all, we will definitely not be returning. Two soups and two fish fries and sodas was 60$ not including tip. Portion sizes were terrible (besides soup). We also got a chance to see another table receive burgers and they looked like burnt crisps on a muffin you’d get with a McDonald’s breakfast sandwich. I’m trying to be as nice as possible but truly. If you are going to charge a decent price for food is should be decent food not an untrained “chef” throwing things in a microwave. And last thing. Menu was very very basic. Pizza, wings, burgers and hot dogs nothing special.

Tried Breakaway recently. Our impression is that this seems like a good place to shoot pool. They have a menu if you’re hungry. I was not impressed by the food. Possibly a one time experience, but I’m not likely to recommend for dinner.

This is an absolute gem! What a great family place to share a meal and memories. Service was great, staff very attentive to all our needs. The food was amazing. And a great variety. Something for everyone. I had the hangover burger. It was made perfectly. The owners were also very kind attentive to our needs. This place is an all around 5 star. Will and have been recommending to all i see. Looking forward to going again.
