The best seafood I’ve ever had in an airport period. The lobster roll is amazing. It was full of meat and toasted with butter just right. My cousins all had different entrees and enjoyed them all. I will definitely eat here again if I’m ever at this airport. The service was great as well.

This was a surprisingly solid airport meal.

I kept it simple with shrimp, rice, and broccoli. Nothing fancy, but the shrimp was clearly high quality and well cooked. The basics were executed well, which I appreciate. Sometimes simple done right is better than overcomplicated.

The service really stood out. My server was attentive, friendly, and engaging without being intrusive. In an airport environment where things can feel rushed, that made a difference.

That said, the pricing is definitely on the high side for the portion size and what you’re actually getting. It’s airport pricing, but it still feels steep for a fairly basic plate.

Overall, a positive experience

Great spot to eat at the airport! Instead of low quality airport food, this place offered high quality seafood dishes! One of my favorite dishes here is the calamari, Rhode Island style. Before eating here, I’ve never had it prepared this way before and I had no idea what to expect. To my pleasant surprise, I REALLY like it this way! By the way, Rhode Island style is a savory mixture of butter, garlic, and hot peppers. Adds a nice layer of complex flavors to one of my all time favorite seafood dishes. The clam chowder was nice a creamy. The fish & chips were fried well – flaky yet still keeping the fish nice and moist. I enjoyed my house salad; however, the dijon dressing is very much on the sour side so that made it a bit hard to eat. The hard boiled eggs made it easier to swallow. I added fried shrimp to my salad – they were cooked perfectly! Also, the fried shrimps were decently sized. I ordered a side of plantains. Unfortunately, they weren’t the softest, but still very yummy. The sweetness helped me eat the sour salad. The service was fine, but they didn’t really check up on us. The place is nice – I had a table on the “outside” of the restaurant; it wasn’t really outdoors, but not deep into the restaurant itself.

Walked in around 7 on a Friday morning. Immediately was welcomed and treated extremely respectfully. Rich was kind, thoughtful, talkative, and always happy to provide any kind of service needed. The breakfast was great and well priced for an airport too. The eggs and bacon were filling but not over done and the whole meal felt fast and fresh. Coffee and Food were good but the service really elevated the experience to a different level. I’ll be back many times after this.

Pretty good experience for an airport restaurant. The new england clam chowder was really good, and our bartender, Rich, did a great job.

Airport prices, but surprisingly flavorful, fresh tasting, good food. Fish tacos were great. Plantains were crispy and delicious. Beer was ice cold. Service was lively, friendly, and prompt. All in all a great experience.

While on a business trip in Houston A friend of mine was telling “if we ever go to Washington DC we have to eat at Legal Seafood!” My friend is booshie when it comes to food so I thought this was quite an endorsement. Two weeks later low and behold we were in DC. We got to the airport three hours early because we had to walk from one end of the airport to the other AND go through security just to get to legal. It was worth the effort. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and the food was absolutely amazing. I understand why the clam chowder is so famous. Now I’m the one telling my friends “if you’re ever in DC go to legal seafood”.

When it comes to airport food, this is as good as it gets for quality dining.

The clam chowder is mild in flavor, creamy in texture, and plentiful with clams and chopped potatoes. It’s just how it is up north. I personally like a touch of Tabasco and a sprinkle of black pepper to make it a bit more bold, but we will keep that between us. Eeyore says it is a good chowder as is. We both give it a 4/5.

The Grilled Salmon is terrific. Slight crisp on the outside with a moist inside. The full flavor of the salmon is locked in perfectly. The asparagus and broccoli are fresh and both make for great side items. 5/5 for this dish.

As for desert, skip that. Key Lime pie is best left to the folks down south. The graham crust is too firm. The raspberry sauce topping overpowers the flavor of what the highlight of the dish should be, the lime custard. I’ll skip dessert on the next visit and stick with the amazing seafood.

I had a truly exceptional experience at Legal Sea Foods in the KDCA terminal. The service went above and beyond—my waiter generously paid for my meal as a Thanksgiving gift, and it absolutely made my day. Gestures like that are rare and speak volumes about the kindness and hospitality of the staff.

The food was outstanding as always. The crab cake is consistently amazing—perfectly seasoned, full of flavor, and one of the reasons I return every so often. Even in a busy airport setting, the quality and care they put into every dish stands out.

Highly recommend stopping here if you’re traveling through KDCA. Exceptional service, excellent food, and a team that truly values its customers. I’ll definitely be back!
