Our afternoon at Sun Valley’s Roundhouse Restaurant was an unforgettable mountain adventure. We decided to hike up the trail and work up an appetite, enjoying the stunning alpine scenery along the way. When we arrived, the Roundhouse greeted us with an inviting, upper-class mountain lodge vibe — but we felt completely at ease, sweaty and dirty from our hike.
The restaurant is both kid-friendly and dog-friendly, which made it perfect for our little crew. We settled on the patio, enjoying drinks and appetizers while playing a board game, and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. They didn’t rush us at all, letting us relax and take in the beautiful mountain views.
Pro tip for visitors: hike up and ride the gondola down to fully experience the Sun Valley resort trails. The drinks were expertly crafted, the food was flavorful and satisfying, and the service was top-notch. The dog-friendly patio makes this a great spot for hikers, families, and pet owners alike.
Whether you’re looking for a casual mountain dining experience, a romantic date idea, or a fun day out with the kids and pup, Roundhouse on the mountain is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back for another scenic, delicious afternoon at Sun Valley!

My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary at Roundhouse. From the time we arrived until the time we left, every single staff member we encountered wished us a happy anniversary. They also gave us a nice card and a gift! I’ve traveled all over this world and I can honestly say, this was probably the best dinner service I have ever had. The food was phenomenal as well. I can’t say enough about what a great establishment this is.

We ate lunch here on Sunday when we were skiing. We had a reservation, but it still took us some time to get seated we first started with some truffle french fries, they were very good, but they were very strong on the truffle. we then got served our fondue, which came with 3 times less the amount of cheese than my expectations it was delicious, and the cheese was great. On the downside, they gave us grapes and apples with our fondues, which was unexpected. We then got tea and the cups were not even clean the bottom part of the cup was not cleaned and overall it was not a great experience way overpriced for portions 2.5/5

Had an excellent experience here! Definitely more of a tourist attraction but worth it. The food was amazing. Our waiter Terry was great. He recommended an excellent spread and was knowledgeable about everything. Highly recommend visiting here!

Easily the most classic restaurant on the mountain. With epic 360 degree views and a history that’s beyond compare dating back to the beginning of the resort it’s no surprise we had a wonderful time during our stay. Food, drinks, and service are top notch too!

We had a very enjoyable experience at the Round House. The staff was efficient, and the view as we relaxed on the deck was worth what we paid for our lunch. The food in general was perhaps not quite up to the price point, the lemonade, for example, was not very flavorful for this lemonade lover, but I have to say the truffle fries were worth every penny!

Talk about the greatest seat in the house! It was breathtaking sitting out on the patio and the food was just as spectacular! Make sure you call ahead for reservations… although I think you may get in still, it’s a gamble. And they close by 3, I think because the gondola stops running by 4.
