If you’re ever that far up north, definitely give this place a try. Frankly I was surprised to find a good BBQ joint this far up as I almost always associated BBQ with the south.
This place has a lot of variety of meats and ways to smoke them too.
I always got for sliced brisket. Also I tried their smoked chicken. Both good choices. They also offer different variety of Mac n cheese as well as other sides.
And yes, they do have sweet ice tea.
The ladies in there are very welcoming and will answer your questions without pressure.

As a Texan, I must say it wasn’t half bad. Sometime for the whole family. Food was quick, hot and tasty. Ladies behind the counter we’re sweet and attentive. One of the better places to get a quick, good andhot meal.

Its been a long time since I’ve had a good BBQ sandwich and American Smoke Wagon definitely delivered. I had the mild brisket meal with their mac & cheese and it did not disappoint. I’m very picky about mac & cheese and I had the whole dang bowl. I highly recommend, you will not be disappointed by the savory-sweetness served up at your table. Live deliciously and give these guys a try.

Stopped here for lunch on a trip from Montana to Ohio. Staff was very friendly, patient, and helpful. The mushroom brisket melt and pepper jack mac was delicious. Definitely recommend!

This place was outstanding, the food was tremendous and the customer service was top-notch. The slow smoked half chicken was the most tender juicy chicken I’ve ever had and my wife’s mushroom brisket melt was incredible. Also great homemade potato salad and sides and more fries than you can eat. Great prices, very helpful and well worth the stop. Far out shines the 4.2 Stars it’s rated

Staff was very friendly. The smell of barbecue hit you as soon as you step into the restaurant and it smells amazing. I tried to pull the chicken sandwich combo with sweet corn. The corn was mediocre. The pulled chicken was very good but the bun could have been warmed or toasted and it would have made it better. Prices are a little high for the food that you get.

Great place to eat in Watford City! Had the Rack of Ribs, wow so meaty. They are a wet style yet if you like thick meaty ribs, yep this is the place. Others that was in my party gave there meal thumbs up as well. So, nothing bad. Sauce good as well.
Restaurant was clean, and last but not least…. service was good. Waitress greeted with a smile. Will be back again before heading home.

Not a fan. The pulled chicken sandwich had a small bone in it, was very dry, lots of gristle. Took over 30 minutes to get our food, just had a chicken sandwich and a burger. Didn’t appear to be very busy, other people got their food in front of us. My buddy said the burger was awesome once he got it though
