One of my favorite places to be. But an important note!! There is a 20% service charge added to tabs and this does NOT go to the staff; it is a circuitous way to raise prices without messing with the actual menu. Please remember this when you close your tab and tip your bartenders accordingly.
But back to my review … Louie’s slogan is “Where Friends Meet,” and it’s true! The cocktails are expertly made (don’t mistake it for a dive bar!), the karaoke is popping, and the people are always friendly and casual, from the regulars you’ll see week after week to the business people popping in after a work dinner to the out-of-towners in search of karaoke that start before the witching hour.

I had not been to Louie’s in several years…used to be a regular when we lived in the neighborhood a while back. Popped in Saturday night for a few hours with a friend for old time’s sake and it did not disappoint! I want to give particular credit to the bartenders. We stepped outside for a few minutes when the bar was very busy and someone was kind enough to hold our bar stools for us. When we came back in, our drinks and waters were gone (but promptly replaced, and the reason is amazing!). The bartenders had cleared our drinks (knowing we were coming back) because there were “a lot guys at the bar, and we just always want fo make sure our customers are safe; we are making you fresh drinks right now.” Absolutely the best! Could not believe how thoughtful (and caring) they were to make certain that no one would tamper with our beverages while we had stepped away. Thank you for a great night!

Dj skipped both of my friends once and I understand maybe it was an accident but you never once called their name. I went up again and added their name to the queue. Only my second friend got called because I questioned the bartender in the regards to why we kept getting skipped. We were patient and polite, there was no reason to act in this manner towards us

So much fun. Small bar with great bar staff and fantastic atmosphere. Get there early if you care about holding the microphone. Fun all evening, but after about 10pm it gets really packed – elbow to elbow. Loud and full of people dancing and singing. If that’s your kind of karaoke, it’s the best spot in Chicago.

Me and my friend waited for our song to come up because we love doing karaoke. Then we noticed other people that came in to the bar, they perform before us. I told my friend to ask the karaoke dj how long will we be up and the dj said oh we skipped you guys. If you come here to do karaoke, don’t.

I have visited 4+ karaoke bars in Chicago so far, and my favorite place is here. During the most recent Chicago Sings karaoke competition, both first and second rounds were hosted here because people recognized the incomparable value this venue holds. Whether it’s for a birthday party, for a night out with friends, or singing alone, it is a safe & friendly environment to say the least Staff members do their best to make everyone’s experience enjoyable too.
P.S. Drinks may seem like they are on the pricy end, but you need to remember that it includes the price of you singing too!

Came once on a Thursday with a pretty light crowd, and then made it my go to spot for karaoke, all the DJs are great and friendly service is fast and the crowd is always fun!

If you like karaoke, you’ll love Louie’s. A killer set up with a designated karaoke DJ booth, multiple screens, and a wireless set up that lets you be the star of the show or slink into the background if you don’t need the limelight…or can’t quite hit those notes like you thought you could.
Drinks aren’t fancy but they’re also not expensive and staff is polite and friendly. Last visit the bartender even comped me a free drink for helping him turn away someone who had a few too many drinks at the bar before. Never overcrowded either which is nice if you’re just looking to hang out with friends/on a date and belt out a couple of your favorite tunes.
