We had our Anniversary dinner before the Mardi Gras parade. We arrived at 5:00p. Our Server was nice and efficient but was super quick on everything nothing personal about his service. The food was terrific enjoyed it all. Gator bites were great. We had the drum filet fish with coleslaw that was very good and the red beans and rice were perfect Dessert was good bread pudding

We’re visiting from California and trying new local spots, and I’m happy to say Kingfisher has officially become one of our favorite restaurants.
We started with the mozzarella appetizer and marinara—that cheese pull was amazing (we even had to take a photo). I also ordered the fried green tomatoes, which were incredibly flavorful and perfectly balanced—nothing was overly salty. The kids ordered the fettuccine with bread and absolutely loved it.
I ordered the peach caprese salad, and wow—it was so fresh and delicious. I even tried to get the secret dressing recipe, but sadly they couldn’t share it… it’s truly a secret! I also had the chicken salad croissant with fries, which was light, refreshing, and very satisfying.
And then came dessert—because we couldn’t stop . We tried the gooey butter cake, brownies with vanilla ice cream (we asked for the praline on the side, which they happily did), and the white chocolate bread pudding. Every dessert was rich, comforting, and absolutely delicious.
The highlight of our entire experience, though, was our server Jeremiah—he told us to call him JJ. He was incredibly sweet, knowledgeable, and patient, answered all our questions about the menu, never rushed us, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. When we asked for a small extra container, he brought it immediately. His promptness, politeness, courtesy, and overall service were truly top tier.
We would absolutely come back to Kingfisher any day—but if JJ is working, we’d especially want him as our server. He made everything feel easy and enjoyable from start to finish.
If you’re in the area or nearby, this spot is a must-try. Fantastic food, wonderful service, and a great overall experience.

Wow, this place is busy for good reason! Don’t miss out on the crab & Brie soup. The crab claws appetizer was also delicious. The locally sourced pale ale was perfect. The manual options are great and for being fresh local seafood the prices seem reasonable to also support fair labor costs. Cannot beat the beautiful oak trees at this place sits under!

The overall experience was amazing. Our waitress Ms. Kimberly was amazing and very helpful. For starters we had the boudin egg roll with the special sauce made for them it was amazing. Next, for entrees my wife had there chicken and shrimp gumbo it was well seasoned and flavorful. I had the half and half fried catfish and blackened shrimp it was also well seasoned and flavorful. But it came with a jambalaya thats all I really want after tasting it. Definitely a repeat spot.

This hidden gem was magnificent. The food is hot and fresh, and the prices are very reasonable. Not to mention, when leaving, you can stop by the Fairhope pier or go to the Grand Hotel for views. I hope the atmosphere stays the same as more and more people find out about this gem.

Make reservations for this gem on Mobile Bay in Fairhope. Taylor gave attention to detail and pleasant to talk with. Our meal choice of fried green tomatoes, seafood lasagna w/cream spinach was excellent. More than enough to share between wife and I. Do not miss this spot!

Everything we ordered was delicious. The fried green tomatoes with the balsamic glaze drizzle exceeded my expectations. The Andouille encrusted drum was perfectly prepared. The portions were generous. The atmosphere was great. The service was top notch. We’ll be back as soon as we’re able.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. This was quite a surprise. The atmosphere and location was much neater than I expected! I got a variety of things to try. Everything I ordered was amazing. I will say, the bread pudding had a very nice taste and flavor, but if you’re a texture person….this is not the one to try. Also got the brownie dessert to go. Let’s just say, YUM! Time to be seated and waiting on was flawless! All food came out exceptionally quick and was all fresh! That’s rare!

The food is so delicious. Authentic gumbo and crispy fried catfish were amazing. The brownie dessert with a scoop of ice cream is out of this world. The photo of the brownie is not the best because I couldn’t wait to take a bite!

Great staff, atmosphere was great and the food was good
One complaint
I ordered the shrimp and grits
The taste was awesome
But when I have to remove the tails from the shrimp – fail
I don’t want to have to reach in to the sauce and pull the tails off the shrimp
I want to enjoy conversation while I eat
The server said this has been mentioned to you in the past.
For this I give you 4 stars
Listen to your customers
