For years, Carl’s was my fallback… superstar with cheese, zucchini fries and a shake, one of the few that don’t taste like hydrogenated plastic. But the brilliant brand managers decided they don’t need superstars anymore…I guess they don’t need me either. Take the staples off the menu, lose your loyal customers… I’m out.

Service is a bit slow, but good. They went out of the way to customize an order. The bathrooms and dining area were spotless although my toilet stall wouldn’t lock. Most importantly there are power outlets here! Two just to the right of the main entrance and two more on either side of the long tall bar seating area.

This is the first time I’ve been to this Carl’s Jr. on Technology Drive in Irvine, and have to say, with total honesty, I was impressed and so was my son. We went through the drive-up today at about 10:17 am, and the lady who helped us, “Paris,” was very friendly, courteous, and provided more-than-expected service. The food was prepared right, but the lasting impression goes to Paris. Why can’t everyone in this industry provide customer service like this? It couldn’t be that difficult could it??? Anyways, thank you Paris for making our 1st-time visit such a pleasant and memorable experience. Your boss needs to know how well you represent the company. Thank you and God bless you.

Poor customer service. Waited at the counter without even being acknowledged for about 5 minutes. They seemed more focused on processing drive thru orders than helping dine in customers. 100°outside and no air conditioning inside. It was hot, muggy, and uncomfortable. The food tasted as expected but lacked aesthetic appeal. One of the hamburgers looked stepped on. We ordered the Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger, and Famous Star Combo. We have been dining with Carl’s Jr for over 3 decades as a family.

The chicken was completely undercooked. I suspect it wasn’t cooked properly from the start. Unfortunately, I couldn’t even bite into the first piece. It was my first meal after a long day, and I couldn’t finish it .

Solid fast food option. Besides the standard burgers, take note of the interesting new options, like fried zucchini, chicken salad, and the innovative “Better for You” sub-menu with items like Beyond Burger (really great tasting), low carb chicken club, and even gluten-free options. Staff is friendly and quick. One detraction: they charge a DOLLAR for you to use a debit card, which is the only customer-hostile aspect of the business I can see.

The General Manager, Betty, was the most professional employee I have ever encountered at a Carl’s Jr. I have menu restrictions and she went above and beyond to meet my needs. I’d love it if you would include the Beyond Burger in some of your coupon mailers. I’ve been a Carl’s fan since when I worked at a Jr on Euclid and LaPalma in Anaheim 1966. Great company to work for.
