Very friendly staff. Clean. The greens were delicious for them not to have any meat in them. I prefer my greens without meat, so that worked out. The wings were small and so was the muffin, but both of them were tasty. The sweet potatoes were just right. The prices are affordable. I had 3 wings, corn bread, greens and sweet potatoes. This dish was $9.99.

I haven’t really ordered food from this restaurant in quite a while. I know that back in the yesterday years the food was excellent. I ordered a mild grilled catfish with a side of cabbage and dressing. first off the dressing tasted like a cardboard box. The cabbage was OK. it was not really not much taste to it. It was OK And they asked do you want the grilled catfish mild or spicy? I asked for mild. Once the food was served
I observed that the catfish looked as if it was blackened and not grilled when I tasted it, it was very spicy and I had to scrape off all the seasoning that they put on. It was very salty and I could feel my blood pressure going through the roof if I was to sit up and eat this and I don’t have high blood pressure. It was spicy and I asked the waitress was this blackened or grilled. she referred to me as that they were both the same which I’ve been to other venues and they’re not the same, so she took the catfish back, and I gave her back that dressing which tasted like a box, I said just give me fried shrimp instead can’t go wrong with that. She came back with fried catfish which isn’t what I asked for as a replacement but it looked really good so I just kept it. I just didn’t wanna be over-the-top cause I don’t believe in sending food back-and-forth to the kitchen.. It was seasoned had a good taste, but the catfish was very mushy. It didn’t have any texture flakiness meatiness. It was just mushy. I don’t know what’s going on, but I was completely disappointed at that point. I didn’t even wanna ask for nothing else from this restaurant. I just was disappointed

The food is awesome. Just know that you’re going to have to wait for fresh cooked foods. Our waitress was totally up to the task of handling the large groups. She is a great addition to your staff.

I placed an online order which stated that it will be ready for pickup in 45 minutes Cool. I was told to wait 10-15 more minutes when I got there NO PROBLEM. I come back in and they say 30 minutes!!!! YOU CLEARLY DIDN’T START COOKING UNTIL I GOT THERE JUST SAY THAT!! Anyways I ordered 3 wings with perch, cabbage & macaroni and a side of candied yams. The perch wasn’t perch it was small, greasy and has absolutely no flavor. The chicken was flavorless and fried in old grease. Cabbage hard and no flavor NONE. Yams uncooked and no type of candied in sight!!! Macaroni has a weird herb used that was strong and inedible with tons of black pepper. The pancake cornbread was like chewing sugar SMH IT’S A $65 NO FOR ME

I’ve been going here a looonng time…..for a lot of years and have never encountered a bad experience until this night 12/26/22, stayed til close, and it was the worst. First thing, the barmaid on duty that night was unattentive and obviously only focused on the men at the bar. She was very distracted by some Que’s that were in the building; so much so my friends and I left her bar and started ordering our drinks (which we perfect) from the front bar! I don’t know if she even noticed, but I’m almost sure she didn’t care . Secondly, the food we ordered was bad, the wings hit every time but the sides… mac&cheese and greens tasted like they came straight out the can . A friend also had the bad tasting sides w/ meatloaf and says it (the meatloaf) was basic and didn’t taste like it’s normal good quality. I’m not sure what’s going on, if there’s a new cook or what but I was disappointed by night at Geno’s, for the first time.
