This place to be a dim sum king and master. So let’s see if they’re pretty good eh or ew. They’re family owned and operated and got some awesome deals. I got their xiu mai, sesame balls, beef chow fun, cha shao rice, honey baked cha shao bao, and cha shao bolo bao to try. Can you tell I like cha shao? Anywaysss Their xiu mai was MASSIVE, perfectly juicy, bouncy, and umami. The sesame balls had a crisp nutty exterior with a chewy mochi interior and had plenty of sweet red bean filling. The beef chow fun had bouncy noodles, good wok hey, and lots of meat but could use a bit more salt. The cha shao rice could’ve used more meat but what there was was super tender, flavorful, umami, perfectly sweet and savory. The honey baked chashao bao had more of that amazing cha shao inside with a nice chewy, pillowy, sweet, bready bun. Same with the cha shao bolo but I liked it more cuz it had an extra flakey, buttery, sweet cookie top that made the contrast between the sweet bun and savory cha shao even better. Overall this place is pretty good.

Xiu mai $5.68
Sesame balls $5.38
Beef chow fun $13.99
Cha shao rice $9.99
Honey baked cha shao bao $5.38
Cha shao bolo bao $5.68
$46.10

We had a cozy, pleasant meal here, and at roughly $50 for three people, it was a pretty good value. Our favorite item was the char siu rice rolls, which had thin sheets with perfect silky texture, and excellent flavor. The siu mai was plump and juicy with a nice bit of shiitake mushroom and no chunks of fat fillers. We were also impressed by the salt and pepper fish; the coating was light and crispy, while the fish was mild and tender inside. I enjoyed the subtle salted flavor of this dish, but to be fair since it is called “salt and pepper” fish, it was a little light on the seasoning.

The chicken feet had a unique, sweet star anise flavor that I was not used to. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy this. The steamed pork ribs were tender, but mild in taste. I can’t even remember what this tasted like anymore.
We were already planning to order the stir fried soy sauce noodles, so it was a nice surprise when we learned that with their current promotion, It was complimentary for spending over $30. The noodles itself was missing that dry, ‘wok hei’ touch and included some non-traditional carrots. The flavor was still good while hot, but felt soggy towards the end. The brown sugar sponge cake was a complete disappointment, which was dense and rubbery. I typically make this homemade from scratch and was thinking I could get a good comparison. Would not recommend. I do think they made this fresh to order for us, and it came out within 20 minutes, which is impressive? Despite the poor product.

I would probably still come back here if I was in the area shopping and craving dimsum.

Came on a busy Sunday around 1pm, and they seemed a bit short-staffed but still delivered great food. Everything was hot and flavorful! Har gow and shiu mai were perfect, and the string beans were amazing.

I’m unsure if they really know how to cater to people. When we (my wife and I) walked in to an almost empty restaurant during the lunch hour, a nice young lady hollers from across the room, “how many.” LOL, it’s obvious that “2” is how many.

Here’s where the fun beginds. After we seated ourselves, it took 8+ minutes to bring a menu, and then another 12 minutes to return to take our order, and, and, aaannndd, another 14+ minutes to bring our food. My wife was upset and wanted to leave, because we were in a hurry.

The food; mine was duck and pork with rice, hers fried rice. It was was plentiful, but exceptionally bland. The prices were low medium $$ compared to other restaurants.

When asked what we wanted to drink, we both asked for water, but received nothing. OUR SERVER NEVER CAME BACK. That’s right, she had no interest in our welfare as a customer. No interest if the quality of the food met our expectations or if we wanted anything else.

Okay, Fun, fun, gun… I mean, (im clearing my throat), fun…
See if you had this experience.
We felt like we had been crawling through the desert for hours, you know, dying of thirst, parched throat. Whew, and then someone with a jug of ice cold water, YELLS, “WOULD YOU LIKE SOME WATER?” And asking if they can help. YES, P L EASE, and the person says ok, but never comes back. Lol.

Nope, she never came back. Neither she, nor the food, would cause us to ever return. Amen

I LOVE DIM SUM KING MASTER. Best items are the haim suk gok, siu mai, and their rice noodle rolls which are different then a lot of other shops and more thin. The rice noodle rolls are made fresh. A must-try is the pineapple buns which are also freshly made and are always very warm and fluffy. Last recommendation, is their thai tea. This is my go-to place for dim sum. Support small businesses!!

Of all the restaurants in the HK plaza, this is my favorite spot to dine. The food is delicious and the service is very friendly. They have so many unique and traditional dishes. My favorites are the chicken feet, shumai, and the duck of course. Glad I found this gem and I’m looking forward to coming back.

No mustard, no chilly, no hot tea served along with dim sum, kinda strange. Dim sum tasted ok. Fried shumai is very dry.
