i love this place so much and it’s one of my fav restaurants in lynchburg, (and i would usually give it 5 stars) but i had to make this review so hopefully they will make changes in the future. they didn’t tell us that flames cash wasn’t working until it was time to pay (which would have impacted us eating there, bc we are college students!) and the service took a very long time. our waitress never came to check on us and i had to go up and ask for boxes. i noticed our waitress literally just standing there doing nothing. it was a little frustrating because we had been there for a such a long time and felt like they had forgotten us. anyways, they still have amazing food and usually it is not like that

Not a great experience service-wise. I placed an order midday for a pickup order at 5pm for 4 dinner entrees (about $65). Once the order was placed I received a text confirming my order and time. About 15 min later I received another text telling me that my order was ready. Concerned, I called the restaurant and said, my order was placed for a 5pm pickup but I got a text that it was ready now. The woman on the phone sighed and said that this had happened before, there was a problem with the online ordering that when orders were placed that the kitchen didn’t see a time for pick up and prepared the food right away. I explained I didn’t need it now but at 5 and asked what they were going to do. She said that she’d leave the ticket and let them know to re-make the food and have it ready at 5. I was sorry they were out the food they prepared but it was not my fault and thanked her and hung up. I arrived at the restaurant at 5:15 expecting to walk in and get the order…sadly not the case. I walked up to the register and there were 3 young guys “working” the counter. I gave my name to get my order. They look at the counter where orders are and say we don’t have anything for you, I reply, I ordered online for pickup at 5pm. Blank stares. Where did you order it? Online. Doordash? (I never said Doordash and there are multiple ways to order “online.”) No, through your website. More blank stares. We don’t have anything for you. I replied that I spoke to a woman earlier and explained what happened and that she said she would have it ready at 5. Finally one of them picks up a paper taped to the counter….Andrea? Yes, that’s me. Looks at the paper and says “oh it will be just just a few more minutes.” To which I replied – a few more minutes? It hasn’t even gone to the kitchen yet to be made has it? He at least had the decency to admit it and said no. I wait another 15 min for the food. This receipt was taped to the bag – with this note at the top – Ordered way too early again 🙁 . Now not sure that was meant for me since this was the first time I ever ordered online from them. But please look carefully at the area they circled at the top of the receipt – you can clearly read that when it was printed out it shows the time the order was placed 12:06pm and the pickup time of 5:00pm. How that is “way too early again”? The food here is great and my dine-in experiences have been good. The takeout system and the front facing employees that were representing the business yesterday definitely need some work.

Every time I order filet mignon, it’s fatty and that’s exactly what I didn’t order. I just ordered tonight and it was the same rubbery steak. Chicken has a good flavor and the rice is more sticky than fried.

I did a DoorDash pickup. I had my baby with me and had my hands full. There was a really nice woman who helped me by carrying the drinks to my car for me. It was incredibly nice of her and wanted that to be noticed! Great food. Extremely nice staff!

An old favorite, the food is delicious and, even though the place is small, it has a really nice atmosphere to eat with a date or friends. Best pork egg rolls I’ve ever had, and they’re huge. Boba and alcohol are also available!!!!

I have been to food location so many time! I really enjoy the food that I have order many different food variety. From their simple Chicken Hibachi to the boba tea, it is a great spot for their value and simplicity. Plus, the atmosphere is very attractive for young college students and the service are nice.

Really friendly, fast service. The egg rolls weren’t consistent at all. One was dripping with grease. They had a good flavor and were massive but I could only eat one. The orange chicken box was delicious. I’ve also had their cream cheese wonton and it was really good. What I like the most is that their fried rice actually has flavor! Their miso soup was disgusting though. It had HUGE chunks of tofu, was really cloudy, and tasted bitter. I wasn’t a huge fan of the takoyaki since it was really soggy. I give 4 stars because of the service and rice/chicken. I’ve been here a few times and they’re always so nice.

Been here a couple times now, and without fail I have stomach issues. Became violently ill this time. I don’t know what’s going on with the sushi, because I pic within my range that I know I’ll like, but I should not be this sick over something that normally doesn’t make me ill. Be careful ordering the sushi.

This is a great place if you want to just relax, it has a coffee shop like atmosphere.
The staff is not extremely attentive but they are very kind.
I will have to go back and review them again at some point but overall I would suggest this place for anyone that has a little extra time.

I am so happy that the restaurant I intended to go to dinner at tonight did not update their Christmas Hours online. I got there and it was closed. Thankfully Kenko Hibachi was open a couple of doors down. I had never been there before but usually you know what to expect at any hibachi place, but they are not the typical hibachi joint. Kenko’s food was absolutely fantastic, the wait was very short, the staff was very polite, and they even let us eat there when it is posted “To-Go Only”.
I am super impressed. Their food is so much better than any of the places in town where they make it with a show in front of you. You know which ones I am talking about. Give this place a chance, you won’t be disappointed.
