Truly one of the most spectacular dinners I’ve experienced in Rochester. I was visiting from out of town after moving away over six years ago and a former colleague mentioned Vern’s as a spot to check out. They did recommend that I get there a few minutes before they opened to secure a table. I ended up arriving 15 minutes after they opened, and all the tables were already taken! I am beyond thrilled though because I ended up sitting and dining at the bar which was perfection. The bartender was phenomenal, the drinks were delicious, and the food was out of this world. I cannot wait to return next time I visit Rochester.

Nice place! We popped in without a reservation and enjoyed a very nice meal! It seems like all the eateries nearvthe corner of Park and Berkeley are good – it just depends on your mood!

You share your entrees & place your entire order at the beginning. I love shared meal experiences because you get to really focus in on conversation with whoever you are with. The atmosphere is cute, we were in the back where you’re outside but not. Only set back for the 3 stars was the heat vent blasting in my face while eating. Otherwise, very cozy.

Vern’s is her favorite restaurant, and ironically, I hadn’t ever been there with her. The food did not disappoint. The bee sting pizza and T-bone steak were my favorite. The spicy lettuces salad was also on point.
I would highly recommend Vern’s for a date night or to go out with friends for a nice dinner. There typically is a bit of a wait, since you cannot make a reservation.

Service wasn’t great. I’ve been to Verne’s a few times and it was pretty good. Tonight, we came here for my birthday dinner. After waiting 45 minutes to get a table (no big deal, we chose to wait), we were seated and ordered a drink and food. That’s where the service ended. It took nearly an hour for the food to come out. And the server never once came over to ask us how it was or if we needed another drink. The other times I’ve come the service was much better, so it’s disappointing to have spent my birthday here. The food was very good (when it arrived), we ordered the bee sting and the lamb special, so I won’t knock them too much. Might’ve just been an off night.

My wife and I decided to go here for our first anniversary dinner, and it exceeded every expectation we had. From the very start the atmosphere was laid back and relaxed, and the setting was just adorable. Our server, Josh, was very thorough in explaining the way they did orders there, as well as all of the specials. We got the focaccia bread (on special), the Lost Meatball pasta dish, a chicken dish, and the “best carrots” side (which, btw, WERE the best carrots ever). Everything had amazing flavor, was hot, and delighted every taste bud. We barely had room for dessert at the end, but ended up going with a tiramisu and it was amazing (a little more sweet for tiramisu than I’m used to, but I digress). The drinks were all amazing as well. Highly recommend you order the “wing it” cocktail. Just let them know what you want, and they’ll knock it out of the park with their own concoction. This spot was amazing, and I am so happy we came out. Looking forward to a return trip!

We came with a party of 6 and even though they are very popular we were seated quickly! Our waitress was excellent and everyone was friendly. They have a variety of food options that are unique and changes seasonally. The food was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend eating here!

Just amazing. Spicy lettuce is my favorite dish in rochester but everything is amazing. Dont sleep on the specials. Awesome cocktails and knowledgeable bartenders. They have often quoted over a 2 hour wait time but we have been seated within an hour- take them up on sitting in the little alcove by the door and they will grab you a drink while you wait! Consistently some of the best food, cocktails, and apps in the area
