Great food and super speedy service, we had chicken skewers, prawn tacos, bahn mi, beef pho and fried spring rolls. Everything was really good, great balanced flavours, serving sizes and prices were just right to get a wide range of dishes to try. Impressed with how quickly it was all cooked and served. Highly recommended

Saigon Commune is an absolute standout and easily one of the most enjoyable Vietnamese dining experiences in Auckland. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels vibrant yet relaxed. The interior blends modern styling with subtle traditional elements, creating a space that feels welcoming and thoughtfully designed. It works perfectly for a casual lunch, dinner with friends, or even a relaxed date night.

The food is exceptional. Every dish tastes carefully prepared, balanced, and full of authentic flavour. The pho is a highlight. The broth is deeply aromatic with rich layers that show time and care in preparation. The meat is tender, the noodles are perfectly cooked, and the fresh herbs add brightness to every spoonful. It is comforting without feeling heavy and flavourful without being overwhelming.

The banh mi is equally impressive. The bread has the ideal texture with a crisp outer crust and a soft interior. The fillings are generous and well seasoned. Savoury meats pair beautifully with fresh herbs and tangy pickled vegetables, creating a perfect balance of flavour and texture in each bite.

Rice dishes and vermicelli bowls are prepared with the same level of quality. The grilled meats have a slight char that adds depth and smokiness. Fresh greens and herbs keep everything light and refreshing. The sauces complement rather than overpower the dish. Portions are satisfying while still feeling clean and well balanced.

Service is friendly, efficient, and attentive. Staff are welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. They are happy to make recommendations and ensure everything arrives promptly. The overall experience feels organised and smooth from start to finish.

One of the strongest aspects of Saigon Commune is consistency. The ingredients taste fresh, the presentation is neat, and the flavours are vibrant. There is clear attention to detail in every dish served. It is the type of place where you finish your meal already thinking about what you will order next time.

Saigon Commune manages to honour traditional Vietnamese flavours while presenting them in a modern and approachable way. For anyone in Auckland looking for quality Vietnamese cuisine that delivers both flavour and atmosphere, this restaurant truly stands out.

Vietnamese from Ninh Binh. Food fusion to European taste. If you been to Vietnam. Don’t go here. Nothing to compare, tasteless. We expect to taste real Vietnam foods. Not very happy. Never go here again .

I came here for dinner based on recommendations from a friend. I was very pleasantly surprised by the portions and flavors. Had the beef pho, the small portion and it was very generous in size. Also ordered the fresh spring rolls which had prawns and marinated lemongrass beef in it, fresh and yummy! Prices were reasonable. Great value for a dining experience!

I had the beef pho, and the portion was really generous! The broth was rich and flavorful, and the beef was tender. The seafood pho was also very fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making the dining experience even better. Plus, the restaurant has a beautiful and cozy atmosphere. Definitely a great place for authentic Vietnamese food!

We dined here as a large group and had a wonderful experience. Food arrived fast, and service was great. Pork trotters and Sichuan pork ribs were definitely the stars of the show, both being very tender and juicy. Skewers were also quite reliable. Overall we were impressed and will be back again soon.

Disappointing Pho – Bland and Lacking Flavor
I recently visited this Vietnamese pho restaurant, and unfortunately, I left quite underwhelmed. The food was, in a word, mediocre.
I ordered the shrimp and crab roe pho, expecting a burst of seafood flavor, especially the distinct richness of crab roe. Instead, it was completely devoid of any crab roe taste whatsoever. It was incredibly bland.
The beef marrow pho was equally disappointing. There was absolutely no depth of meaty flavor that you’d expect from a well-made beef broth. Honestly, I’ve had pre-packaged meals that tasted better than what was served here.
Overall, the experience was very underwhelming. I cannot recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for authentic and flavorful Vietnamese pho.

Delicious spicy sharing meals ️
Definitely go try out the fatty, rich, new pull-a part lamb ribs and the cumin pork ribs. For the vegetarians, their cucumber salad and the spicy cold noodles were amazing top it off with a couple of potato skewers

Nice atmosphere and good staff service. The dishes were more Vietnamese-inspired or fusion but the seasoning were nice. Rice cakes had a tad more of tapioca than rice flour, and spicy beef pho had a pork rib. Which is not a negative point but kind of surprising.
