Awesome new place! We never eat calamari but ordered the sample appetizer and everything was fantastic.
This is my new favorite restaurant!
Five star cuisine at affordable prices.
The Gorgonzola was amazing as well.
We will definitely be going back!

I love Lavoglia!
All in all the portions are very generous. The food is fresh and stays warm on your plate. My chicken Parmesan was cooked to perfection. And the pasta!!! Oh the pasta!!! I could literally taste the garlic and herbs along with the olive oil. Very very nice!
Oh! And I loved that bread! Goodness gracious.
Nice place for a date night or friends night out.
The shrimp scampi is also DELICIOUS! So well made and light!

Salmon sucked. Very fishy. Lasagna was cold and they reheated it after sending it back only for it to be luke warm. Food was nasty. Avoid at all costs. Find something else to eat. Terrible quality food.
I went with my family down to Lake Charles to visit my distant family. We decided to eat here only for all 9 of us to be heavily disappointed. 3 different lasagna, all cold. Salmon was cooked WRONG and they refused to refund us our money under the guise that we don’t know what “real food tastes like”

Didn’t care for the tomato basil dressing at all, but may just be me. Waiter Graham needs to be able to describe dishes vividly and be on top of his refills.. The atmosphere and prices of the meals are very good! I loved the bruschetta and bread with olive oil & herbs, great!

We’re visiting Lake Charles for a wedding and order LaVoglia. It is the worst Italian food I have ever had. I work in the service industry so I do not take this review lightly. Ordered items:
Calamari- so over cooked we could barely chew them. Also very fishy taste.
Tour of Italy- the chicken Parmesan & Lasagana were unrecognizable. The cheese on top was so charred it looked like charcoal. The fettuccine Alfredo was dry and tasteless. Very gummy.
Veal Marsala- it is served atop a huge pile of spaghetti noodles even though fettuccine was clearly specified. The veal was so dry, over cooked, & flavorless- I might as well have eaten a hamburger steak. In fact- the hamburger steak would probably have been more tender.
The only redeeming item was the side of meatballs. They tasted like they came frozen from a large chain like Sam’s however, still decent. Olive Garden would have 100% percent been better- they at least have great breadsticks.

The staff is great was always there with refills and whatever we needed maybe because it was slow night and was very knowledgeable about food. We had a party of 11 ppl so I can’t speak for all but I order the salmon and it was over cooked veggies where really good though(17.00). It’s a bit pricey but you get a decent amount of food. If you order a margarita ask for light ice or you will only get bout 4 swallows from one glass(8.00). Cheesecakes aren’t very good either(8.00)

My Wife and myself went to this restaurant on July 21, 2017 at 6:30 PM. There were approximately 10 customers there and it was not crowed at all. My wife ordered the “Prime” quality Rib Eye steak cooked medium rare with garlic mashed potatoes and a Caesar salad. I ordered the Yellow Fin tuna steak and garlic mashed potatoes and a Caesar salad. The waiter took our order and asked if we wanted a cocktail. They had no non alcoholic beer so I drank water. When the waiter returned with the salad he told us they were out of garlic mashed potatoes. We had vegetables to choose from. The Caesar salads were regular greens no romaine lettuce. When the steak came out it was not a “Prime” class steak, in fact it was about 3/8″ thick, approximately 40% fat and a lot of gristle. We asked for the manager and waited about 10 minutes before a person saying he was the owners son came to the table. We discussed the poor quality and showed him the partially eaten food. We asked if he would make a concession and he said that he could give us dessert to which we told him we did not want dessert. He just shrugged his shoulders and said they had a problem in the kitchen with cooks. The “Prime” advertised steak had nothing to do with a cook, but , in fact , was poor quality and misrepresented. We left and will never return to that place. Not being from Lake Charles one could understand that this may be acceptable here but not anywhere we have dined in our lifetime. My suggestion: Stay away and spend your money elsewhere.

I was hoping that in the past 6mo or so since I last visited things would be better, but that wasn’t the case. The menu has changed, and not for the better. They also no longer bring bread and dipping oils to the table, and it wasn’t listed in the menus. The waitress had some type of error, resulting in half of the plates coming out at different times, and the ones that were coming out weren’t very warm. We had a party of 5, with a reservation. It took over two hours for our basic lunch orders. We gave it a second chance, and we won’t give it a third.

My family and I went to have a birthday get together for my mother-in-law. A call was placed to the restaurant at around 1:30pm to see if we needed reservations because of how many of us there was. We were told no and they would see us around 7pm. We get there and sign on the door says “closed for company Christmas party”.
They tell us they are closed for a party, but didn’t bother to tell us that when we called earlier. Then we are told the kitchen ran out of food. I don’t have a problem with a Christmas party though I do have a problem with (1) not being told when we called, (2) being lied to about running out of food.
The manager and not sure who the other girl was were very rude and couldn’t get their stories straight.
Then some other guy comes up to us to inform us he is taking over as the “new” manager come tomorrow (Monday). He is going to be making changes and wants us to come back. I don’t think so, hey guess what, he is intoxicated.
At this rate they will be closing and that property management group will be looking for a new company to take its place. LaVoglia has obviously let some success go to their heads. But our money will not fill their pocketbooks any more.
So, if you want bad service, lies from management team, and an intoxicated new manager telling you how good they will be, I guess you can go there.

Ordered chicken Alfredo with penne pasta and it was incredible. True italiano style! Grilled chicken was packed with flavor and the staff was incredible. Order exceeded my expectations. Best in town!!! Beautiful atmosphere, will definitely be back soon!
