So this hidden gem is easy to miss because it’s located inside a corner market / liquor store.
As soon as I finished placing my order for four tacos the maiz was pressed out and the tortillas were on the grill.
Game on! That is a great start to this adventure.
I selected a carne asada, al pastor, birria and shrimp tacos. In very short time my order was completed and ready to take home.
The aroma of these tacos in my car almost convinced me to pull over and chow down. My mouth watered all the way home. Each of the tacos was tasty and well-proportioned. A quick heads up that each taco includes rice and beans inside. Let me tell you the rice and beans were a great addition.
I now have a favorite Mexican spot in SLO. Is it too soon to return tomorrow?

The food is excellent, authentic, and the hot salsa is quite spicy which I was very happy with. The seating space is awkward and the indoor lighting is quite flickery, so best to eat in the outdoor space or take it home.

I love a lunch spot inside a liquor store. Great handmade corn tortillas made for tacos, packed with lots of meat (if you go that route), and great bang for your buck. Happy to have you, Los Mexas❤️

The food is fantastic, and yes the spicy salsa actually is spicy! Atmosphere is meh but I gave it 5 stars because what do you expect if it’s in a liquor store? LOL. Totally worth it; some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in my 20 years here in SLO.

I got the pambazo which is like an upgraded torta but the bread is dipped in a red sauce and fried. The pambazo bread was light and fluffy. I changed the meat from chorizo to birria which was very flavorful. I think it’s the only pambazo sandwich made in town! The rest of their menu is typical mexican so has everything you want for a good price! Highly recommend for a fast casual meal!

This fabulous restaurant is in a market so the ambience is a little to be desired, but there’s a park right across the street. I had the most amazing chili rellano I ever had in my life. Better than anywhere in Mexico. My husband‘s tacos were to die for. The tortillas are handmade right in front of you. Don’t miss this place.

This is the best Mexican food in SLO.
Everything is priced reasonably and everything I’ve ordered I would order again.
I usually get the Pastor burrito.
Today I had the crab quesadilla which was great.
This restaurant is a hidden gem and exactly what SLO was missing.

Great service and amazing food! I had a chicken taco and my husband had an asada burrito – both were so good. The tortillas are fresh, tacos came with beans on them which I loved, and the tortilla of the burrito was grilled slightly on the outside which was so tasty. It’s a family run business and everyone that helped us was so friendly. We will for sure be back!
