Disappointing. We used to come here quite often and when my son (he likes chicken burritos) saw the $40 family deal (it really is not a deal) he asked to try it, it is advertised to feed 4. So we ordered it with 4 chicken burritos, 4 beef burritos and 4 ground beef taocs along with a kids chicken taco meal for my daughter. We walked in at 530, sat quickly and ordered right away when the waitress came back after waters. The food came out at 6:10 (40 min after arriving) and was luke warm. When I divided the rice and beans onto plates (same size plate as my daughters kid meal the med round ones) the rice and beans we got was less than what she got on a kids meal. Basically it was enough rice and beans for two adult plates, maybe, The tacos were OK but very little meat in them and mostly lettuce. I usually do not order taocs but comparing to others it was half what we would get in other tacos. The burrito sizes were a joke. I could have taken all the meat from them and made a med size burrito. Thy were rolled loose and wide to appear larger under the sauce just mostly tortilla. On top of the size issue, when the waitress brought the food out she called out ground beef tacos, ground beef burritos and shred beef tacos. I stated it was supposed to be 4 chicken burritos (as mentioned earlier my son wanted chicken specifically). She said maybe the kitchen told her wrong because she had down correct. She went and verified and turns out we go 4 shred and 4 ground beef burritos. She said she would toss them and get us the right ones. Its already been 40 min and I am not a fan of tossing food and we were hungry, so I said we would just keep them. Later on when she checked how things were I said fine except the mistake with the burritos and she said it was her fault. So who knows who fault it was but bottom line, her only solution was to toss what they gave us and make new. They could have just let us eat those and bring us the correct ones or offer some compensation but they didn’t. I am not the person to tell them what to do its up to the restaurant to try and fix, solve and gain the support of a guest when they mess up. Seems they only cared about the check today without consideration for future visit. That’s fine. We have more the enough Mexican restaurants in the area to choose from. Just sad one I used to like is just mediocre at best now. So to recap: do not order the family meal, it is misleading and portions are the size of a kids meal for 4. I still love that this is one of the last restaurants serving thick chips instead of thin. But the other flavors were very mild and uninspiring. Perhaps my flavor profile has matured but for sure its left Gorditos behind. Still the same decore, the ceiling is distracting (stained) cleanliness was over all decent and the staff checked back several times. I just realized, I don’t remember any music. I miss some atmosphere when dining that includes music or other background appropriate noise.

Nothing exciting about this place, or that makes me want to come back, except maybe Quentin. He was a polite and attentive young man who came by to check on us often. That was about where the positive ends.
We have eaten tons of Mexican, and my husband’s favorite is chips and salsa. After reading the reviews, I was hopeful. However, the chips were hard, not warm, no salt, almost stale tasting. Salsa was pretty good. We asked what size the margaritas were and were told 12oz, knowing that couldn’t be correct we ordered one anyways. It actually came in a 32oz glass, would’ve been great except the margarita was flavorless and was water downed, tasted like lime water. I tried the margarita flight, looked pretty, but was not horrible, but lucky to have 1oz of tequila between all 4 of the flavors.
We ordered a couple of things from the menu, and we were told by them that they didn’t have it, and when we said it was on the menu, they were like ohhh you mean…(exactly what we said). One of the orders was incorrect, then they remade it, and the burrito came with lettuce, like who puts lettuce in a burrito, especially when it’s not listed on the menu.
Portion for price, not worth it, and taquitas were half empty. There’s more, but basically, you can tell our experience wasn’t great, so we’ll go back to St Louis and Indy, where we have our favorite spots. Oh yeah, the atmosphere was boring, and the waitress was, well, she was…

WORST Mexican food I have EVER HAD. Their food is tasteless. Service was good( atlaest the young man that helped us ) . Chicken tortilla soup was chicken broth ,pico, corn . We where told that it was how the make it . Please save your money and taste buds. Whoever is cooking has clearly just learned the basic cooking methods or the chef has lost all joy and is just collecting a pay check. I’m not one to usually post reviews . But this place was such a let down that I feel obligated to help save your money!!!!!!!!

I went into this location for the first time and I was totally amazed by the service friendly welcome, with a smile, the waiter he was great answered all my question without rushing me, I hate when that happens, the salsa omg not to hot not too mild just perfect with the homemade chips which was hot and fresh. I just order a beef burrito because I didn’t really know if I was going to like it. Now I wish I would have gotten a larger plate of food lol. Anyway try it out you can’t go wrong. The burrito is soo big I only could eat less than half.. The picture below is what I’m taking home with me. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Had date night here and had lunch a couple times prior. No drink menu which makes it a little difficult for me to order. Food is pretty good but I’ve had better. Tables need a good cleaning they’re really sticky. Overall good spot to grab some lunch but I wouldn’t do dinner again. Server was great, friendly you could tell he was doing his best.

Have not been here since I was 10 years old! This place is my favorite memory because of the fountain and how it is decorated- I use to think I was really in Mexico, lol! I brought my son here today for the first time in literally years and the decor is still here and the food is still great! Had mole and my son the kids quesadilla. We also ordered the fried ice cream. Everything great, nothing over seasoned or with too much salt, really excellent service. I am very happy to give it 5 stars! Everyone needs to come here, it’s relaxing and really feels like home cooking.
