Roti Jala made for a delightful side dish and complemented the meal well.
The Laksa (generous portion size) had a pleasant tangy kick with a subtle sweetness — flavorful and satisfying, although I still find myself comparing it to the unforgettable one I had in Singapore.
The Nasi Lemak was average in taste, decent but not particularly standout.
The ambience was warm and inviting, and the service was attentive and efficient overall.

This Seattle famous Kedai Makan does not taste the same since the ownership change. The laksa noodles were very flavorful, but the other dishes were good without being particularly impressive. One downside was the service. They repeatedly tried to rush us to check out and interrupted our dinner and conversation even though there were still empty tables around us.

Good spot with tasty food though it takes some time to figure out the menu for someone not versed in this cuisine. The staff are happy to to help uou make a choose though. Things can be spicy to you’ve been warned.

I was finally able to give this place a try after hearing about it for so long. I ordered the beef curry with coconut rice. Both were delicious. The egg and shine of the sauces weren’t so appealing for me but didn’t distract from the main meal.

Being a Malaysian native, we were excited seeing a Malaysian restaurant during our first visit to Seattle.
However the menu, food and flavors was highly disappointing.
It was good to see vegetarian options too. But ALL thr food is sweet…and that too very sweet. Typical Malaysian food has a great balance of flavors like sweet, spicy, sourness. However the laksa or Nasi lemak….only had high notes of sweetness which made it not palatable.
We have tried Malaysian cuisine in varies parts of US. And sad to say this was one of the most dossapointing experience.
They did not even have the most common item roti canai on the menu.
Furthermore, an automatic Tip was also added to a party of 4 ( 2 adults 2 kids).
If the owner reads and you are Malaysian, pls rethink the flavors and options you offer as you represent the vibrant cuisine of Malaysia !

Feels a little spendy, but it includes an 18% service charge (no tipping allowed), so I suppose it’s par for the course [what’s not spendy these days].
The food was fresh and phenomenal. The Chili Pan Mee absolutely delivered.

Kadai Makan was my first time trying Malaysian food, and honestly, it was just okay. I was a bit excited to explore something new, but the food didn’t taste very fresh, and a few dishes felt like they had been sitting out for a while. The flavors were fine, nothing terrible, but I was hoping for something more vibrant and freshly made. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, just not something I’d rush back for.

Service was fast and friendly, and the food came out quickly which was great. The roti jala with chickpea curry was good – nice flavor combination. Laksa lemak noodles could’ve been cooked a little longer but going with the prawns was a solid choice. Our server recommended the nasi lemak (Malaysia’s national dish) with beef rendang and it was spot on. The sayap ayam pedas (spicy fried chicken wings) had large portions and were fried perfectly. Lychee martini packed a punch, the meal washed down well with some cold Singha beer. Overall, solid Malaysian spot with good service, just minor execution issues on a couple dishes.

Nasi lemak was good and I loved the laksa. I liked the ribs too but table mates found it on the sweet side. Pan Mee was good flavor and texture, a little hard to mix properly though.
Could do without the funky pineapple. The chicken wings are fried well but aren’t that unique in flavor, I would skip if you are limited on the dishes you can consume. We also got the beef rendang on the biryani rice but would probably just get a second nasi lemak instead.

This is a great place for Malaysian cuisine. The flavors are great and we love going there. We’re vegetarians and Kedai makan has a good selection of dishes. I would recommend trying this place out. The food can get spicy though so check with your server before placing an order.
