I’ve been a loyal customer since this place first opened, which makes this review particularly disappointing. What used to be a solid 4-star experience has now dropped to 1 star due to a clear decline in food quality and customer service.
The food quality has gone downhill, and the service shows a complete lack of care for customers. When I called to report that our order was incorrect, instead of handling it professionally, multiple staff members were put on the call to challenge what we had ordered. That approach was defensive and unprofessional.
When we called back to complain about the poor food quality and asked to speak with a manager, we were told no manager was available and that someone would call us back. No one ever did.
It’s disappointing to see a place deteriorate so quickly. The impression now is that customer satisfaction is no longer a priority. I would caution customers to be careful and not take everything at face value. This is no longer the establishment it once was.

This is my go-to whenever I am town. We had the steamed dumplings, general tso’s chicken and the chicken with broccoli. Always so good, and service has always been friendly.

Ordered delivery . Delivery time was excellent. Unfortunately the quality of the food was poor.
Everything tasted the same. Hot and sour soup was heavy and lacked any hot or sour flavor.
Entrees were loaded with sauce. Tasted like they used the same sauce and dumped it on the making everything greasy.
Not good at all.
Spent almost 90.00 for poor quality.
I’ll assume that there are better options in the area.

I have visited the Jani in Wantagh many times over the past decade and a half. I started going there when the Jani in Mineola left. In the last few times I have went, the food was okay, nothing to boast about but I did not say anything ; sometimes every one can have an off day. Today, I was in the area and it was raining heavily so I did not want to drive to Melville to go to TOA which has great chinese food. I ordered 4 lunch specials around 12:42 pm, the person who answered the phone was talking to someone else and kept putting me on pause. I picked up the food within the next 40 minutes as I had errands and when I finally opened the food after 3:15 pm and the food was awful. It was still warm but no taste at all, the chicken in the General Tsaos was hard, the chicken was rubbery in the chicken with brocolli, the fried rice was tasteless. We did not open the other 2 items yet. My daughter and I called the restaurant and asked if they used leftover food, because the food was not fresh. The lady who answered, told us “they have been there 30 years, everyday the food is fresh and maybe since I ate the food almost 3 hours later it may not have the same freshness.” That answer to me is unacceptable. If your food loses taste and freshness after it is cooked, then you should not be selling it. I have purchased food at many places and ate it 1 to as many as 7 hours later and the taste was not diminished. I told the staff person on the phone that I wanted to speak with them first before putting a google review and she stated, ” yes, you have to be honest if that is your opinion.”
Well, I am being honest and I will not be returning.

I’ve been a long-time customer of Jaani, and the decline has been steep. Service and customer care are now nonexistent. Staff make misleading statements, the food quality has dropped significantly, and worst of all, they simply don’t care. Complaints are ignored and brushed off. What was once a reliable place is now a disappointment. There is no management and customer service-this leads to a deadly experience. I had to throw my last order, it was so bad and they did not care.

For the longest time I refused to come here because my last time I was with my in-laws and my kids were 7,4,1, it was an awful experience. I blamed poor Jani. Well I’m here to tell everybody that Jani is a very good restaurant, the decor is beautiful, the service was attentive and quick and above all the food was delicious. The early bird special is the best deal around. Please forgive me Jani, I will be back.

We ate Sweet and Sour Rib Tips for appetizers. It was a tasty treat.
Entrees were, Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, BBQ Duck, Jani’s House Special Udon, Blossom Chicken and Shrimp Fried Rice.
My favorite, was the Udon but all were delicious.
The service was very friendly. What I appreciated is that you are able to enjoy your meal without being rushed. The atmosphere is quite pleasant.
I highly recommend eating here.

Ridiculous made reservations for 5 PM only to arrive at 4:50 to find out. The line was out the door and all of us had reservations for 5 PM. Waiting 30 min. And no one came out from their seats.
