6 years ago my wife and I hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner on the patio. It was an amazing experience with outstanding food. Today I tried the lighthouse again for the 1st time since our rehearsal. I left after waiting a half hour for cold, soggy, forgotten about fish tacos and a draft beer that took over 10 minutes to be served. It’s too bad this place has fallen so far considering its location and potential.

my wife and i have eaten at the lighthouse more than a dozen times over the past 8 months and we have never been disappointed. the food is excellent and the service is very good. we understand that there is a new owner who changed the menu and has brought many improvements. i know that we really enjoy the excellent view of sinclair inlet and the both the crab cakes and prime rib are just perfect. my wife is the fish eater and she has only given raves on the preperation. this is a great place for a casual lunch or a great dinner

Server was great ( erin) but that’s about it. We were never greeted, finally had to find a worker. We had reservations for a bday dinner and they had no place set up for us to sit. Mind you the place was not busy. Once we got seated it was a good half hour before we got drinks. It also took over 45 min to see any food after our order was taken. My sister had a hair in her food and the manager looked very annoyed and was just not kind. I don’t think I will be returning ever. 3 hours we were there and only 30 min of that was eating rest was waiting

Server was very attentive and accommodating, and they have a rotating cider on tap, which is great.

Atmosphere was strange. It seemed like it would have been nice in the 90’s, and the balcony overlooking the water looked like a phenomenal place to sit. Too bad it was closed. They also played the weirdest music. Songs from Frozen and Katy Perry? Not ideal for a nice dinner place.

Food was both decent and awful. Shrimp Flatbread was great but very small, burgers and fries were good, but the house special mac and cheese was horrid. Whatever cheese was in it had no flavor (which is very odd for what was supposed to be cheddar), so everything tasted overwhelmingly of bacon. The noodles were also incredibly overcooked. Waitress graciously replaced my food with a somewhat better sandwich, but it gave me the feeling that they are lying about what is in their food. Ordered a brisket burger? You get regular ground beef. Cheddar cheese? Tastes like velveeta. Generally, you are not getting what you paid for.

The Lighthouse’s Thanksgiving buffet was great! There are lots of choices and good quality for the price. You could choose from turkey or ham or prime rib or some of all three! Lots of fruit, many side dishes. It’s a good thing the desserts were small portions, that way you can have one of each and not feel too guilty!! If you try it next year be sure you make reservations!

I should have payed attention to the other Local Guide. Food was okay, but nothing to write home about. A couple items left plenty of room for improvement. Service was adequate, waitress was friendly, but not as attentive as you would expect. Top that with an unexpected 12% service fee not mentioned in their online menu, and I recommend that you make other dinner plans.

Update winter 2016 – it is permanently closed now. I feel badly for the owners, but we can only hope it will reincarnate into something better.

We have been here 3 times since the new owners took over. Excellent atmosphere, great food and the service is fantastic. Would highly recommend the seafood feast for 4. Better than the crab pot and local. We will be back….tonight

No greeter. VERY slow service even with very few customers. Several waitstaff were on duty as well as manager but it still took 15 minutes to get our drinks. Dinner was mediocre quality and lukewarm. Not worth the money charged at all. I could pay half what they charged and get much better service and food somewhere else.

The furniture looked like it was from a Sheri’s closing sale. The rest rooms were filthy and not well lit. The Lighthouse is only an option if you’re not interested in getting service quickly. The food was mediocre and barely warm when we got it. I’ll never eat here again nor would I recommend it.

Food and service are excellent! Owner gave us a free appetizer for next time since it was our first visit. The entire staff presented themselves as happy and hard working. Great place!
