Barriques Coffee opened in Madison at 127 West Washington Ave in September 2003. It is located one block west of the Wisconsin state capital building in the old Loraine Hotel, at the corner of West Washington and Fairchild. Barriques has been voted as a gold, silver or bronze Best Coffee Shop in Madison winner every year since 2010. We offer a full service coffee and espresso bar. We roast our coffee in Madison a few miles away from this café. In addition to our irresistible fresh from the oven bakery, we have a light sandwich and salad menu. For evening enjoyment we serve several tap beers, and wines by the glass or bottle. Plus you can pick up a bottle of your favorite wine from the Madison famous Wall of 100. Free wifi available.

a wonderful neighborhood coffee shop with great seating. My cashier/barista (with a striking resemblance to benson Boone!) was incredibly hospitable and our fingers touched when he handed me my iced latte. Incredibly satisfied. The pleasure is all mine when I visit bariques!

Gotta check this jazzy warm hole out in the winter, a nice escape from the downtown bustle.
Good coffee and eats! I’d just have a slightly better oat creamer brand like Oatly or Rise, that blends best. But their Pacific brand is still good enough!
Good balance in moisture and texture and flavor for the sandwich.

Was very surprised and impressed by breakfast and coffee here. Both my wife and I got the honey lavender lattes – outstanding. But the real star is their simple but delicious breakfast sandwich. Hard to describe why it was so enjoyable, nothing crazy but good fresh ingredients with a subtle sweetness coming from the sausage. My wife got one with gluten free bread and commented that it didn’t fall apart like other gluten free bread breakfast sandwiches. Great prices too.

I stopped in about 1pm on a slow Sunday and got the berry berry smoothie. Which was fantastic, the only downside was that the original cup had a hole in it! Oops, sometimes that happens the staff were apologetic and got me a new smoothie which I greatly appreciated. I will mention that after what I am assuming was the Sunday morning the rush the cafe felt a little disheveled with chairs sort of scattered about and some trash on the ground. Overall I really like this location.

I loved the atmosphere of this place. The vibe is bike cafe jazz wine. You know it’s good when the old men in town are sitting outside the coffee shop with their dogs.The coffee was good, good food too. I really loved the granola!

I love coming to study here as the atmosphere is comforting and there are lots of places to sit. I got the pesto grilled cheese and it was okay. I liked the pesto but the sandwich itself wasn’t very thick. I normally order chai lattes here and they are very good.
