Had the deep dish personal pizza. Sauce and crust were delicious. Perfection. And the place just has good vibes. Love it. Highly recommend

Eating Chicago Style Pizza in Saxonburg Pa and it was legit. Tasted pretty close to Lou Malnati’s. Just moved back home to Pa from Chicagoland. Literally brought tears to my eyes. Everything else was delicious and the service was excellent. Will be back often for sure.

Run to this place—some really good food is coming out of this kitchen. I ordered the Italian hoagie, a bucket of meatballs, and a large 12-cut pizza. I was nervous about the hoagie because it looked very small, but it more than made up for it in taste and freshness. Obviously, it would be a lot cooler if there were more of it, but that’s just my gluttony speaking.

The meatballs tasted like they were made by my best friend’s 100% Italian grandmother. They took me right back to spending all day on a Sunday while the gravy simmered.

Pizza is pizza—but not here. This was so good. The little pepperoni that cups up, onions that still have a bite, and vinegary banana peppers, all mixed with fresh dough, fresh mozzarella, and a perfectly executed cook—amazing.

I can’t wait to try the Chicago-style pizza and more of the delicious food coming out of this place.

Handlebar Cafe just catered our birthday celebration. We were extremely happy with the variety and quality of the food and our guests commented all evening about how delicious everything was. Linda was great to work with and was very helpful in choosing the type and amount of food we needed. We highly recommend Handlebar Cafe for your catering experience.

While the rest of my friends had a good experience, I was served wedding soup that was warm, not hot. I ordered half chop salad. After eating some the waitress asked if I wanted more salad dressing and I said yes. She never brought more dressing. Since she didn’t ask what dressing I wanted when she took my order, it’s no wonder I didn’t get more dressing, in fact I never got any dressing for my salad.

We stopped in for dinner. This is the second time for us. No surprise that the food was outstanding. It was busy and the two young servers did a fantastic job working together checking on tables. The lasagna and sausage bake dinners were a decent size portion. The beer is Boxcar Brewing. Very good selection. The food was delicious and if you are hungry afterwards, then you might have worms….go see a doctor. Definitely a must to try here.

I had heard from many how good the food was at the HBC but had never been.
I made a reservation for my husband and I and also invited my Father in Law, my Brother and Sister in Law to join us for Lunch on Wednesday, Dec 17th.
We arrived at 11:30 and the waitress came over right away, greeted us and took our beverage order, delivered those and took our lunch orders.
From the time we ordered until.we received our lunches, we waited for over an hour.
The waitress keep apologizing to us.
Finally, our food arrived.
Sadly, my Father in Law’s fish sandwich was overcooked and my Brother in Law’s Philly Steak and Cheese Stromboli was undercooked on the bottom and very dark on the top.
My Eggplant and the 2 Italian Hoagies were delicious.
Needless to say, I was disappointed with our experience and embarrassed that I was the one who encouraged us to eat there.
It was not mentioned but I got the distinct feeling there was a staff shortage in the kitchen because there wasn’t many people in the dining room.
As I said at the beginning of my review, I had never heard anything negative about your place.
As a former waitress, I feel our experience needed to be brought to the owner’s attention.

Back in the day, after my mother worked a hard shift, she used to treat us with Broken Provolone Wheel (cheese sticks). It used to bring back fond memories, but how can we obtain happiness with this disgusting monstrosity you call the picture below. Like c’mon man, it is LITERALLY CHEESE IN A DISH OF SAUCE!!!

Also we got deep dish pizza and that was rotten, ingredient wise. Did you guys use tomatoes and cheese you found in the back of your walk in freezer?! If I was a food inspector, I would have given you a failing grade. Probably not your first I would guess given how you handle customer’s service.

TLDR: don’t come here…ever.

Local restaurant in Saxonburg PA with delicious food, great service, and a relaxed atmosphere. Owner is friendly and attentive. Fun events on certain nights like bar Bingo and karaoke that we love to attend. Prices are reasonable. Can become extremely busy especially on event nights, so parking can be a little tight. Tomato basil soup is always a good to, so delicious! Have been coming to the Handlebar since it opened, and have enjoyed watching it grow! One of my favorite restaurants!

I may not fully grasp the concept of the restaurant, I must say the is quite charming and cute. ✨The décor has a unique vibe. , which added to the overall positive experience.

, I was a bit let down by the food.
The meatballs were just average—nothing that stood out. And the pizza? Not great . It was way too oily, and honestly, it made it hard to enjoy. The dough didn’t have much flavor, and the slices were pretty dry. it was the worst pizza I’ve had since moving to Pittsburgh.

I understand that tastes can vary, and perhaps this is a normal experience for others, but I wanted to share my honest perspective as a consumer. Thank you for taking the time to read my review! ‍♀️
