Nami Nori is definitely a place I would come back to, as the food was excellent! We tried a few appetizers: tuna crudo (superb!), yellow tail ceviche (very flavorful!), and the furikake cottage fries (crispy and perfect!). For the Temaki, they recommend you get at least 5, and they offer three different pre fixed selections, although you could simply order by unit. In all honesty they were all delicious, and all ingredients are very fresh! I would recommend you choose per your personal preference, as you literally can’t go wrong!

Also super important for all people with gluten allergies, their ENTIRE menu is gluten free!

What unfortunately I do have to say is that service was not at the level expected, we had to wait a long time to place our order as well as to get our food, and our server was a bit shady when we paid for our food as he did not hand us the POS terminal when he swiped our card and decided on his own to add a 3% additional tip without consulting us.

Everything was top notch the service, ambiance, and atmosphere were a 10/10. The temaki hand rolls were delicious, especially the Spicy crab dynamite!

The manager Ulyana, was very kind and helpful. She assisted with the menu and checked in to make sure everything was going well. The bartender was friendly, and the mimosas were great.

I’ll definitely be back!

My party sat outside. The ambience was nice. We were dining for lunch and I could tell the servers were trying their best but we were not the only table that were left unattended for a while. After asking for soy sauce and our nori box after being served our tamaki, someone from my table got up and got our table and the table behind us soy sauce. When we were paying for the bill, the server just handed us the POS for us to figure out how to split which felt really odd. For the price, the service could be better. The food is fantastic and this all being said I will be going back.

Unique hand roll place. Got to tried the signature set with the furikake fries. The fries was pretty mid imo. The best roll I think is coconut shrimp and x.o scallops. The coconut is really subtle, not too strong but still gives you a nice coconut touch to it. The x.o sauce with the scallops was pretty unique, the salmon Serrano was good too but nothing stood out- same with the tuna.
p/s: they mix the wasabi with rice so just tell them beforehand your preference.
overall: 9/10

Nami Nori was absolutely fantastic. We ordered a variety of dishes from the menu and every single one was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The hand rolls were standout, but honestly everything we tried was excellent. Our waitress, Karla, was attentive, knowledgeable, and made the experience even better with her great recommendations. A must-visit spot in the Design District—we’ll definitely be back.

I had the most incredible lunch here! My friend brought me and I had no idea the taste experience I was about to really enjoy. Everything I had here was delicious, truly no wrong choice but the temakis had me doing my happy food dance the entire time!! Also I’m a sucker for yuzu drinks and the yuzu soda was so yummy, they had other Japanese fruit flavors I want to come back for while I try more temakis!

I don’t even know where to begin—this was my first time at Nami Nori, and everything was truly a 10/10. My waitress, Karla, was absolutely amazing. She took the time to walk me through the menu and explain the intentionality behind the restaurant, which made the experience feel even more special. You can tell she genuinely enjoys her job, and that energy really elevates the experience.

The food was incredible. I want to say the coconut shrimp hand roll was my favorite, but honestly, everything was so good it’s impossible to choose. Every bite was delightful. The atmosphere was chill, aesthetic, and welcoming, and even the little details stood out—like the soy sauce dripper, which is so simple yet completely genius.

10/10 would absolutely recommend. Thank you, Karla, for such a great experience.

I had an excellent experience here. I appreciate that the entire menu is gluten free. I have celiac disease, so it’s nice not to worry about cross contamination of any kind. I also have several other ingredient intolerances and Stephon was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive when helping me navigate the menu. I appreciate being able to have a meal and not worry about getting sick after, which seems like a low standard, but isn’t when you’re navigating multiple intolerances. I didn’t love that dogs are allowed on the patio, and the inside of the restaurant is quite small and can be hard for the staff and the patrons to navigate at times. I loved my meal and the overall experience and I will definitely return when I’m back in town.

I had a mixed but mostly positive experience at this restaurant. Upon arrival, I was admiring the food from outside when a kind waiter noticed and graciously invited me in through the back patio, seating me promptly. That warm gesture set a welcoming tone. Since the dining concept was unfamiliar to me, the same waiter took the time to explain how things worked, which I really appreciated.

The food itself was flavorful and well-prepared—definitely enjoyable. That said, the prices were on the higher side, so it’s worth noting if you’re budget-conscious.

The ambience was perfect and quiet, not loud.

One aspect that felt less polished was the payment process. A 20% service charge is automatically added, which is typical and understandable as some tourists do not tip, but then you’re prompted for an additional tip while the card reader is held in front of you. While this might be convenient for some, it felt a bit awkward and detracted from the overall experience. It’s a common practice in Miami, but having just visited NYC where tipping is more discretionary, it stood out. Personally, I believe fair wages for staff would be a more elegant solution.

Overall, the service and food were commendable, but the tipping setup could benefit from a more thoughtful approach.

Nami nori was excellent! The service was spot on. Stephon, our waiter, was attentive at all times. Anticipated our needs without even having to tell him anything, checking in on us often. He gave us excellent recommendations, like the matcharita and dessert. The quality of the food was super fresh. We got the signature set which included a great variety. The cucumber black sesame was so unexpected, so incredible. Do not sleep on it. 10/10 recommend.
