We came as a group of four and overall had a really good experience. The Dragon Roll gets a solid 9/10 — it definitely lived up to its name. One of the kids said, “yum, good chicken,” and the chicken teriyaki was very flavorful and tender. The TNT roll was warm and absolutely delectable. The only downside was most of the rolls like the Salmon Lover roll — the rice was ice cold, and we wish it had been warm like the other rolls.
Shoutout to Noah, our server, who was very attentive and genuinely nice. His service really added to the experience.

This was my third visit, and I still absolutely love the atmosphere—the conveyor belt really captures that authentic Japan vibe. However, the food was a bit disappointing this time. The sushi fell apart as soon as I picked it up, and the flavor didn’t quite live up to other spots I’ve been to. I’d still drop by if I’m in the neighborhood and craving the experience, but the quality could be more consistent.

We’ve been coming here since they first opened so we have watched as they worked the kinks out and found their rhythm. Using the iPad in the beginning to order made things so much faster instead of waiting for the server to come around. I’m guessing that guests were misusing them and they had to do away with them. Our kids love the conveyor belt. We do wish it had a little more variety on it to help out in between waiting for our orders to arrive.

This place was so cool! We went for the all you can eat option here and sat at the conveyor bar and we had a great time. Not only are you able to order items specifically to where you are seated that get delivered by a robot (so cool by the way) but they also kept a nice rotation of different options on the conveyor at all times. The servers were really good about clearing the small plates away so our dining area never felt cramped and they were so nice. We will be coming back again and I recommend it to anyone wanting a delicious all you can eat sushi experience

Always a great experience at Kanji Sushi!
Came in today and our server Eric was awesome — super friendly, quick, and really made the vibe chill and welcoming. The food, as always, was on point — fresh rolls, great presentation, and everything tasted amazing.
It’s one of those places where you can both enjoy a solid meal and just relax after a long day. Definitely recommend Kanji Sushi if you’re looking for great food and a good atmosphere.

Visited Kanji Sushi AYCE in Springfield and was impressed. The team was welcoming and provided good customer service from start to finish. The food was good across the board, and the sushi in particular was fresh and well made. Would happily come back.

Such a cute, fun place! Our kids loved how the food was brought out to us by the conveyor belt/robot thingy. Very clean atmosphere and the food was yummy! I would give a four star, but our server and one of the other workers who came to our table to bring food, weren’t very friendly and at times were rude. A little friendlier service could have gone a long way with us.

Food came quick, everything was good. Although I will say the salmon skin salad they put too much sauce I couldnt eat it all. Beautiful inside. I like the concept and enjoy sitting infront of the conveyor belt because I can eat right away while waiting for my order to shoot out. Server came by at good rate to reorder too

This review a bit overdue, but it is impossible for me to not give Kanji Sushi and Hibachi its flowers after my experience there.
I was in town for a business trip, along with a couple of coworkers in the last week of November 2025. After flying into town on a Sunday and checking into our hotel down the road, we were looking forward to dinner. One of the coworkers recommended Kanji as he previously lived in and was familiar with the area.
We arrived at the venue around 6pm and were seated promptly. It was fairly open when we arrived, with a good rotation of patrons in and out, however it picked up quite a bit after we were seated.
As briefed to us by our server (the service was great by the way), the kaiten-zushi (sushi conveyor belt) items were intended to be super light-eats. So in that regard, it is a bit underwhelming when compared to other similar concept places such as Kura. However, the money train (no pun intended) were the actual shuttles that ran along the top rails over the communal belt.
There is a great selection of appetizer, sushi, rolls, and hibachi items for the AYCE menu. Compared to other AYCE venues, you will have to order your items each time the server comes around as opposed to ordering electronically from a table kiosk. Save a few items here and there, we tried almost every item on the menu and they were all spectacular. Great standard rolls with quality and flavor – all the rolls that I’ve had here were probably the best rolls I’ve had in a while. The hibachi meats were tender and on point. THEY HAVE TAKOYAKI!!!
Usually when going to AYCE-sushi restaurants, the bar and expectations are set pretty low when it comes to the quality of the food due to the amount of food that needs to be churned out at speed. This is not the case with Kanji – the chefs definitely know how to create the perfect balance of speed and quality. All of which is delivered directly to your tables on the shuttles with a great turn around time after your order is submitted.
If you want sashimi (the fish without the rice), there is an additional surcharge, however there is a one-time sashimi “sampler” plate that is included with your AYCE pricing. Even with the base pricing, you will get a thorough experience.
Hands down recommend Kanji Sushi and Hibachi for all those in town and those visiting! I will 100% be returning to Kanji the next time I am in Springfield. You CANNOT go wrong with Kanji!
