Clay & Fire is our favorite restaurant in KC! We reserved the patio for a birthday party of 20 people and the manager Tom set up a perfect dining and drinking experience for us. Beautiful decor and atmosphere, friendly attentive staff and some of the best food you can get in the city! Can’t recommend enough. If you need a quiet night at the bar, an intimate candle lit date or a big party like we had, Clay and Fire is the spot!

An absolute must try! We made a day trip to KC to try this place & so happy we did! From the atmosphere, to the service, to the food, everything was top tier! We’ll definitely be back when we’re in town, next. Everything was incredible — we got the grandmas pizza, short ribs, and guajillo hummus + beers. Absolutely no complaints about anything; but the hummus was out of this world! If I didn’t live 2+ hours away, I’d be ordering it weekly. The pita that is served with it is so warm and perfectly chewy — such a wonderful, comforting taste. Our server, Zoe, I believe her name was, was super kind & we really enjoyed her service! She was just excellent! The patio/porch was beautiful, and we loved the cozy atmosphere! Definitely recommend sitting out there when the weather is nice. Thanks so much for a great time!

While in Kansas City on a business trip, I came across a review for Clay & Fire and decided to give it a try. From the very first bite, I was completely blown away. The food is truly exceptional — bold, vibrant flavors that are perfectly balanced and unforgettable. Every dish felt thoughtfully crafted and full of character.
The experience was just as impressive as the cuisine. Tom, the bartender, was fantastic — attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. I enjoyed it so much that I came back the very next night.
To top it all off, the owner, Adam, took time to sit with me and share the story behind the restaurant, the inspiration for the recipes, and the passion that drives their kitchen. That personal touch made an already outstanding meal even more special.

Clay and Fire was an amazing experience for me. The menu is curated as an experience of near East dining. There are influences of Hellenic, Turkic, and Persian cultures. All of the dishes are well prepared and we’ll presented. The wait staff is wonderful and very accommodating. The building/dining area itself is unimpressive, but don’t let that dissuade you. This place is worth a visit for anyone interested in trying a unique blend of authentic flavors.

Very unique venue. Had dinner at this same location ages ago, different restaurant entirely then. Clay and Fire have added tables and new spaces to dine in it felt like. Still a little tight not really a place to have a private conversation at least upstairs where we sat.
Food was very unique as well. An interesting Turkish and Iranian blend is how it seemed. Food was good, but there weren’t any leftovers. That seems to be a trend for most places today, however. I never minded paying more for a meal if I can enjoy it twice, but couldn’t do that here.
I would happily go back and try it again. So much potential there.

This restaurant has the best Turkish food in Kansas, and honestly, in the entire Midwest! The authentic atmosphere, music, and the warm welcome from the staff every time is just amazing. Once you go, you’ll want to keep coming back! I try something new each time I visit. The appetizers are outstanding, and I’m pretty sure they must be picking the seasonal veggies from their own garden—10/10! I’ve never had better köfte(meatball), and now that I’m writing this, I’m craving to go back again! These guys are the best!

COLD FOOD; COLD PATIO; LESS THAN WARM EXPERIENCE
I was so excited to take my cousin to Clay & Fire to celebrate our birthdays . I had eaten here before but it had been sometime since may last visit. The restaurant is so cute and full of personality. While waiting for a table we got the chance to visit with the restaurant owner and chatted a bit the local and high quality food selection. So far the evening was off to a great start.
We were seated on the patio next to the windows with the heaters on and evening started heading south. It was quite cold throughout the meal. My legs were still cold even after arriving back home. Pro tip: The heaters should be placed low…. Heat rises.
Service seemed unnecessarily slow. We waited to place our order we wait receive bread (which I recall from previous visits coming out hot and fresh right away). We finally received some bread with our Mezza order. The bread was tasty but was not warm.
There was such a delay between the two meals arriving that my dish was cold when the second entree arrived. The chicken wings were supposed to have a butter saffron sauce they had no sauce on them at all. The rice was cold. The short ribs were quite flavorful but considerably dry. The polenta was cold and tomato sauce was not flavorful and was a bit confusing with the dish. I was rather disappointed with both Main dishes. I could tell that my guest was not as impressed as I was with the restaurant on my previous visits. I was sad for this experience and quite disappointed.
The chocolate mousse was thick and decadent. I missed out on the opportunity to get some Turkish coffee and the waitress did not offer Turkish Delights in the desert choices.
In the end everything was cold … We were cold….. The food was cold … And we left with a less than warm feeling for this experience.
