Very nice little restaurant tucked away off the Gloucester Red.
Went in on spec , without reservation for 5 and we were accommodated. Food was good served up on a compartmented steel tray. Good service. Nice place and will return.

THE BEST INDIAN FOOD I HAVE HAD IN THE UK!!!! I have had Indian food in multiple locations around the UK, but nothing can match the flavour profile and taste of the one I had at Thali. My partner was amazed by their Alphonso mango lassi, words can’t describe how refreshing, light and delicious it was. I ordered Jal Jeera, which was very refreshing too. The food itself had a very authentic taste, it reminded me on my mother’s cooking. Alongside our thalis, we ordered aloo paratha, which was crispy and delicious but the aloo filling itself could have been a bit more flavourful, it was delicious nonetheless. The thali themselves were spot on, amazing flavours and good portion size. We got rotis in addition to the thalis, which were good too!!
The ambiance was very retro and old Bollywood, and the song choices were great. I loved the fact that all the dishes were made of stainless steel, I have had water in a steel glass in ages and it just reminded me of home. The staff there were really sweet and polite, including the kitchen staff.

I grew up with South Indian food and was really looking forward to tasting some childhood favourites. We both had the thali. I had the lamb curry with mine, my wife had the chicken. We also tried the potato bondas. The thali dishes were well seasoned, distinctive and delicious. The spicing was nicely balanced, without being heavy on the chillies, but still had enough heat to satisfy me.
We really enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Several people had brought their young children. We noticed that the little ones were catered for, and that they loved the mango lassie.

Can’t get enough of this place! We always try to stop by when we’re in town. Food is good, atmosphere is always really positive, and the staff there was so friendly and accounting, even giving us a jug of sparkling water on request.

Delicious! Chilled out vibe and friendly staff. Beautiful fresh flavours, plenty of interesting choices on the menu for vegans, veggies and meat eaters. The best Indian food I’ve eaten in a long while. The coriander chutney and pistachio kulfi are standout!

It’s wonderful that thali in fact offers thalis as an option, so I can get a full meal with a salad, gunpowder potatoes, tarka daal, yoghurt, crunchy Keralan salad, and basmati rice with my choice of goan fish curry. I wanted all the sides so this is a spectacular option. This was my first time trying goan fish curry, and I love how light and flavorful the fish is to compliment the tilapia. The gunpowder potatoes were so good I saved them for later to have with my leftovers. The tarka daal was so delicious it was gone almost instantly. And the salad?! I loved the salad. I will be ordering that on its own in the future! They’re playing wonderful Indian music in the background while having seating for singles, duos, and bigger groups. I can’t wait to bring my friends here!
