This is my 2nd time ordering from this restaurant. I gave the atmosphere a 5 because I wasn’t there in person. The service a 4 because also I wasn’t there, but the food a 3. Reason why and I’m sorry the jollof rice was not spicy or tasty as what I’m use too. The one piece of goat meat I ordered was all fat, the suya beef was dry, tuff and packaged wrong. This will be my last time ordering here.

My husband has ordered from this place online before but this was the first time we went in person to this restaurant. Upon going inside, the atmosphere was a little confusing because we didn’t know it was a crab and seafood broil restaurant as well as Zion’s Kitchen. They had a lot of nautical decor. Anyway, the customer service was great from Mark and Carmen. Both of them approached us with smiles and engaged in conversation. When we got our food, it was nice and hot and they brought water for us to wash our hands. Mark and Carmen made sure we were ok. The food was soooo freaking good. Me and the husband definitely will be back.

The food is trashhhhh!!!! I should have known that an African spot inside of a crab boil wouldn’t be good. They are calling themselves ZK African lounge on DoorDash and mistakenly ordered again after placing a previous order of over $40 bucks for salty deep fried whiting, tasteless egusi soup with no meat and dry jollof rice. God will punish you all for misleading people and the money you’re stealing now won’t last you all.

Mark, the main chef, is an artist and the food is amazing! His delightful demeanor, table side Manner is polite and delightful. The environment is clean and well poised for convenience. We’ve Been here several times. So far we have ordered egusi & fufu, shrimp & grits, Tilapia, Fried chicken.. each one of these dishes are absolutely the best of the best!! Great side portions and flavor that is transcendent throughout the entire meal.

My experience was very unpleasant. The jollof rice was very flavorful, and the plantains were very soft & cooked perfectly, however goat meat and chicken were super over cooked & not edible. Super disappointing.

I ordered the jollof rice with tilapia on Sunday, and the fish came undercooked and watery . Not long after eating, I got painfully food sick for two days.
I won’t be ordering from Zion Kitchen again, and I hope they take this seriously before someone else ends up sick too.

I ordered a plate of stock fish from this restaurant that cost $19.99, but they sent me one piece of scotch egg that isn’t nearly the same cost as the stock fish. (I didn’t want scotch egg)
If they ran out of the item I wanted, they could’ve called me via uber OR cancelled my order. If this isn’t the definition of FRAUD, I don’t know what is. I’m about sick and tired of these African restaurants in Maryland and their bad business practices.
