This place was a pleasant surprise in the Destin beach area. The BBQ was excellent with plenty of sides to choose from and all were excellent. Many different sauce options and delicious desserts. The insurgents the restaurant was very nice and a back deck overlooking a pond with plenty of seating. We will definitely be eating here again on our next trip to the area.

If you’re looking for some good Texas brisket, look no further than Evie Mae’s. Very soft, tender brisket that melts in your mouth. The potato casserole was good and the jalapeño cornbread had a nice little spicy kick. They have a variety of sauces, including sweet, and loaves of bread by the condiments for you to use with your BBQ. They also have some good desserts including pecan pie, chocolate pecan pie, coconut cream, banana pudding, and key lime pie. They also have nice plastic souvenir cups you can use for the fountain drinks. There were a steady flow of people coming in but ample seating.

Me and my wife are on vacation and decided to give this place a shot. First time we’ve ever had texas style bbq and was NOT dissapointed. Sausage, brisket and pulled pork were all very good. The star of the show for me was the ribs though, best ive ever had by a wide margin. If you’re ever in the area give this place a chance, you wont be sorry because it’s some of the best Q you can get

The BEST BBQ I’ve had in the area & I’ve been here for 15 years!! Brisket A+, potatoe salad tastes like my mom’s! Grits EXCELLENT! Brisket was Tender and I can’t wait to come back and try something else! Also clean & great customer service! Helpful & friendly (ate my brisket before I could take a pic)

This was my first time here. I’ve heard a lot about them being GF so excited to try.
Let’s break down the Pros/Cons
Pros: nice view from patio, plenty of seating & bathrooms (that were clean)

Ok now for Cons:
The second I walked up I was asked my order, not greeted just “here or to go?” (normally this would be a good thing but I stayed back several feet to read menu on purpose) the girl seemed annoyed I needed time (I let her know this was my first trip in) although her words “were polite” her tone / body language was rushing me to the point I almost left.

After checking out the allergy menu the brisket sandwich on GF bun was just about all wanted (gluten/soy/pork avoidant)
The meat was suuuper fatty & portion was 4 very small pieces.
The bun was supposed to be toasted but didn’t see a toaster for more than a few seconds & chewy (I’m guessing was frozen).
All the condiments sit out on counter uncovered (pickles, bread, onions & peppers) this is cold & flu season.
The taste of the meat was good & super tender but after removing the fat I was left with barely enough to cover a bun.
I don’t eat chips (soy) so after $13 ended up leaving hungry.

Probably 1st & last time in for me.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely the Best BBQ I’ve Ever Had
I’m a fourth-generation Texan, born and raised — and I can honestly say this is the best barbecue I’ve ever had. The brisket was perfect, tender with that true Texas smoke ring, and the sides were just as incredible. The owners are from Texas, and you can tell they brought authentic Texas barbecue tradition with them. Hands down, worth every bite.

Had dinner here tonight before closing. My wife and I had brisket sandwiches with sides. I had bake beans and collards greens and she had potato salad. Everything was very good, especially the brisket. We head back to Cincinnati in the morning – I only wish we had found this place earlier in the week, that way we could have eaten there twice. We hope to visit again when we return to Destin next time.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ WONDERFUL experience at Evie Maes!! The BBQ was flavorful and the sauces complimented the meats perfectly. We tried potato salad, grits, brisket chili (my favorite!!), chopped brisket, and pulled pork. The outside seating was beautiful. Prices were incredible.

Love this place! They don’t skimp out on the meat. Had the brisket sandwich and it was thickly sliced and hanging out the sides. Wished they would serve homemade rolls, but can’t have everything! Family oriented/ Dog friendly and the attendant was friendly and informative. Reminded me of a awesome place in Texas. I definitely enjoyed the food! Keep up the good food!

I have celiac’s and the food was amazing with a lot of flavor and option’s. I was amazed to find all desserts are gluten free along with the majority of their food.
We sat outside enjoying the beautiful view.
Food and service were beyond exceptional! This will become a regular place for me to eat. Everyone should experience this wonderful, one-of-a-kind restaurant!! It does not disappoint.
