I visited Lotus Thai in New Brunswick today and had such a great experience. The food was absolutely delicious — we ordered the Thai chili chicken and Pad Thai, and both dishes were flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. You can really taste the quality in the cuisine.
The decor is beautiful and creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to sit and enjoy your meal. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, and the service was excellent from start to finish.
We went on Wednesday for their 50% off girls’ night, which made the experience even better. Everything from the food to the ambiance made it such an enjoyable evening. Highly recommend — we’ll definitely be back!

A few weeks ago, we celebrated a special event at Thai Lotus. The experience was exceptional, thanks to Muzzammil (Moosa), who not only accommodated us but also provided valuable suggestions for the menu and assisted with room setup. He even kept the restaurant open after hours the night before, allowing my friends to decorate the space.

The food was delicious, and the service was excellent and seamless throughout the event. There were no complaints at all.

I recently dined at Lotus and was truly impressed by the impeccable service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. While the service was top-notch, I feel there’s room for improvement in the food quality. Some dishes lacked the vibrant flavors that Thai cuisine is known for. From what I gathered, Thai Lotus can get busy and might explain the delay in receiving our order. Despite us reaching nearly 40 minutes after placing our order. But still we were eager to taste from a range of food that had been ordered.
Tom Yum Soup, Tom Kha Soup, Fish Curry, Shrimp starters and Spring Rolls as well as Chicken Pad Thai and Basil Ginger Chicken to go with it!
Needless to say I enjoyed all of what I tasted and had additional servings as the quantity of portions were great and perfect for a family gathering.
It was all well packed, easy to enjoy and packed full of flavour.
Legend has it the owner himself migrated from Thailand many years ago and has now established a name for himself with this place. This was obvious to us given the crowds we experienced while picking up the food!
Overall, a good place when you are in the mood for Thai and in the Jersey Area.

I’ve visited this restaurant twice for dine-in and once for takeout, and each time has been a unique experience.
The ambiance is simple, elegant, and gives the feeling that they’ve brought a mini Thailand right here. It’s a cozy and inviting place that makes for a great dining experience.
First Visit:
It was just the two of us, and we kept it simple with two entrées and a glass of wine. We ordered the Chef’s Special Black Pepper Fish (Very Hot) and the Veg Red Curry (Very Hot)—both were absolutely delicious! The Black Pepper Fish, made with Tilapia, was perfectly cooked and packed with bold flavors. The Veg Red Curry was outstanding—despite its name, it had a yellowish hue, likely due to the coconut gravy.
Second Visit:
This time, I brought my family, who have some complex dietary restrictions. Moosa, the one who seated us and helped take our order, was very friendly, polite, and amazingly pleasing. He was incredibly accommodating, courteous, and willing to customize our orders to suit our needs—his hospitality was truly commendable!
We ordered:
Veg Curry (Mild, No Onion, No Garlic)
Tom Hak Chicken Soup (Very Hot)
Corn Soup (Medium Hot)
Chef’s Special Black Pepper Fish (Very Hot)
Garlic Chili Rice (Medium Hot)
Veg Red Curry (Hot)
The food was fantastic again, but there was a small hiccup—Moosa doesn’t write down orders, relying on memory, which led to a mix-up. My Black Pepper Fish, which I specifically requested to be Very Hot, arrived Mild. Surprisingly, even at a lower spice level, it was still flavorful and enjoyable!
To top it off, we tried their Fried Ice Cream, which was a nice treat.
Takeout Experience:
I placed my order in the afternoon for a 6 PM pickup, but it seemed like the food was prepared immediately after I ordered. By the time I picked it up, the dishes were cold—which was disappointing. I had ordered the Black Pepper Fish and Red Curry with Chicken and Fish, and while the flavors were still good, the freshness was lacking.
Final Thoughts:
This restaurant serves amazing food with authentic flavors, and the hospitality—especially from Moosa—is excellent. However, order accuracy and timing can be inconsistent, so it’s best to double-check your order—especially for spice levels and pickup timing. If they improve on these small issues, this place would be flawless!
Would I go back? Absolutely! Just with a little extra attention to ensure my order is exactly how I want it.

First, regarding the Drunken Noodles, we were initially disappointed to find that the chicken we requested was missing. We appreciate that the dish was changed for us promptly after we brought this to your attention. We quietly waited around 10-15mins where it was not that busy.
Second, we had significant issues with the Thai Fried Rice. We asked for the dish to be spicy, but when we received it, it was surprisingly bland. We mentioned this to your staff and asked for a correction. It seemed that the same fried rice was simply adjusted and returned to us, but the taste still wasn’t right and didn’t fit the flavour profile we anticipated. And we didn’t ask for the refund. As we were eating at the house we don’t want to go back again for asking the refund.
We left most of the food untouched due to these issues, which was quite disappointing. We hope this feedback helps you look into the consistency of your recipes and the process for remaking dishes when customers provide feedback.

This is an all around incredible restaurant! This is obviously a great place for takeout but my party personally dined in and were very happy we did. The service is awesome and they have a very nice lady that works there. The selection of food is vast and my group was all vegetarian and they have more than enough options for vegetarians. The flavors were so good and the food was just spicy enough for a great time but not a hurt mouth. This is a great place to try if ever given the chance or if you just want to take out some really good Thai food. One disclaimer is on the more expensive side each meal being around $16-$20 but don’t at all worry about still being hungry afterwards as the portions are more than what you would need. In conclusion a great little place to try and highly recommend dining in or taking out.
