We visited Ginko Japanese Restaurant in the Etobicoke area. Ginko specializes in traditional Japanese cuisine, with each dish thoughtfully handcrafted and prepared with care. The atmosphere instantly transports you to Japan, thanks to its authentic design and cultural elements. Our dishes arrived impressively fast, and the servers were incredibly sweet and attentive, making the overall experience even more enjoyable.
We ordered their Yakitori, soft-shell crab and sashimi for the appetizers. For our rolls, we got their dynamite and rainbow rolls. We also ordered their combination dinner – sushi & tempura which comes with five nigiri sushi, spicy tuna rolls, shrimp and vegetable tempura.
Overall, everything we ordered was delicious. The yakitori was juicy and full of flavour, while the soft-shell crab was perfectly crispy. The sushi rolls and sashimi were impressively fresh. However, we did notice that there was quite a bit of wasabi added to both the rolls and nigiri, which made some bites a little spicy and overwhelming.

True authentic cuisine from the food to the atmosphere it was a wonderful experience. I had the Chikara bento box and everything was delicious! The wine paired well with our meal. I also had taro ice cream that was a unique flavour profile every bite kept me wanting more. This is a must try place if you’re staying in the area.

This was our second visit to this restaurant. We loved the freshness and quality of the seafood. The service both times was excellent. We were a little weary of going in initially because the restaurant looked dated and was not busy. We were pleasantly surprised! If you stay at the Delta Toronto Airport don’t pass this place by!

We had a fantabulous dinner at Ginko’s. The staff were really friendly and professional. They were meticulously attentive and always ready to take requests.
The food was really good as well. We had the Chikara dinner (not photographed), and the Ume dinner. The dinners came with miso soup. It wasn’t particularly busy on the Saturday night when we went, but the food did come out really fast.
If you’re in the Toronto area by the airport, and you’re in the mood for a quiet place to have dinner at it’s worth checking out.

We just celebrated two friend’s birthdays tonight in the tatami room and it was a really special experience. The food was so delicious and unique because it was true Japanese homestyle food. The staff are so nice and very professional. We truly had a wonderful evening out at Ginko restaurant. I feel like it was an experience of what dining out should be. My friends and I would definitely come back again, It was worth the drive from Guelph!

We previously placed a large order of bento from this restaurant.
The delivery itself was on time. However, we discovered that a couple of the side dishes in some of the lunch boxes appeared to be spoiled. Fortunately, we noticed it early and were able to warn those who had not yet eaten it.
When we contacted the restaurant, unfortunately, no apology was offered.
Given the scale of the order, this raised serious concerns about food safety and quality control. We hope this feedback will be helpful for others considering placing large catering orders.

Came here two days ago. Ordered a small sushi set, the fish was really delicious and fresh. The miso soup that came with it was also excellent. I also tried a seaweed salad, which was nice. For dessert the server recommended the taro ice cream, which was delicious in both taste and texture. The service was excellent and food came quickly. The atmosphere of this restaurant really seems beautiful with traditional Japanese elements like a koi pond at the entrance, screen doors as walls, traditional roof tiling over some chef stations. Unfortunately it was hard to appreciate the beauty of the restaurant in it’s entirety as the restaurant is sectioned off with traditional divider screens. I don’t know why this decision was made, perhaps for more privacy and a cozier experience, but it takes away the ability to view the detail that was put into the interior design. I know the restaurant used to be open concept in the past as there were no screens separating every few tables, I don’t understand why management made this decision and I hope they remove the screens in the future. Additionally, it’s also a shame the samurai armour display at the front entrance is covered by a poster. I’m sure they could’ve put the poster somewhere else. Overall the food and service is amazing and the atmosphere is very nice despite being blocked off by screens. I hope management will remove the screens in the future so that future diners can appreciate the beauty of the restaurant without feeling sectioned off.

Authentic Japanese restaurant. Restaurant will provide you the parking ticket so don’t worry. This restaurant is in the Delta hotel. Food is ok, service is great because they Japanese. Everything done to perfection. Honestly wasn’t too hungry so i just ordered a couple of sushi and it turned out the salmon was fresh and nice, not something out of the box and awesome just decent sushi roll. They also serve like dinner sets and all if you into those. Overall not bad, but would not go here. Thanks

Stunning quality all around coupled with a great atmosphere. The sashimi tasted incredibly fresh, and as a result, the sushi pizza I had was a delight. However, the standout from my meal was the chikara combination dinner! The chicken karaage had an absolutely beyond perfect texture and coating, and the teriyaki beef was not only melt-in-your-mouth rich, but the in-house teriyaki sauce was some of the best I’ve ever tasted. The only thing I tried that I would pass on next time is their momiji cheesecake, which I found too dense, very eggy and not particularly my style. I would say Ginko is definitely worth the price tag, and is now my favourite Japanese restaurant in the outer Mississauga area of Toronto!
