I can completely see why this place means so much to its regulars. The entire dining experience was a pleasure, from the flavorful food to the cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The service was attentive and seamless, and nothing missed the mark. Both the food and the service truly stood out.

I get why this place matters to its regular customers. The complete dining experience pleased our palates. The restaurant offers a cozy environment. The level of service shows no errors. Service stood out and food didn’t disappoint.

We chose this restaurant because it was Gluten Free friendly for hubby. He had Salmon and potatoes which he’d had the night before. He said that it was good, but he’s had better. I had the French onion soup and calamari. I would prefer a white sauce with the calmari but maybe that’s a regional thing. We were grateful for the attention to the GF and the staff was very nice. We’d go back.

We decided to order from here via online as we were staying at the Tryp hotel. There was no sign where to pick up food. I asked the bartender and he didn’t know. It took him an extra 20-30 mins to find my food. He didn’t even tell me how long Id have to wait. I already had waited 25 mins in our room as that’s the apps recommended time for pickup. I would definitely NOT recommend this place for food. We ordered Garlic Shrimp, Fettucine Alfredo, and Chicken Noodle Soup. The Garlic Shrimp did not taste like it had any garlic. It actually tasted sour, possibly rotten. The Fettucine Alfredo also tasted off like the chicken was undercooked. And the chicken noodle soup didn’t have any noodles. It also came with bread which I didn’t realize but they burned those slices too. I would never eat here again. Waste of my money which they added a 18% gratuity to.

Located just one block from Penn Station, Gastro Bar is located inside the Tryp Hotel. It’s a great place to grab an afternoon drink and a meal after work. Great place for out-of-towners and the locals. Super great and friendly staff. The bartender Dorothy who works on Tuesdays, is totally awesome. Make sure you order a cosmo, French martini or Margarita….you will NOT be disappointed.

Finding somewhere to eat in Midtown was a challenge. We were staying at the Tryp so tried Gastro. The burger was very good. We also got their Ravioli, Chicken Wrap, Chips w/Guacamole, and Margarita. My wife enjoyed the drink quite a bit. The service was adequate.

It was the worst and most disappointing meal I have had in years. I thought burgers and fries would be a safe bet. The food took forever and it was terrible. Avoid this restaurant until the train or find a new cook. Order out or go for a short walk if you’re staying at the hotel. The vegan burger my colleague ordered said it tasted like play food.

The people that work here are friendly, plenty options for drink but please don’t order the raviolis they look and taste sad plus were cold. The pizza’s looked really nice though

Our family was staying at the TRYP hotel and ordered room service for lunch through the App, after waiting an hour I went to the front desk and was informed the restaurant didn’t open until 3:30. The next day we ordered dinner through the App at7:00 and once again after waiting an hour I went to the front desk and was then sent to the bar. The bar tender informed me they didn’t offer room service as the posters in the elevator and our room stated. I ordered food through the bartender which she brought up 25 minutes later. Not sure how this happened but the two orders of chicken tenders were the worst chicken I’ve ever eaten, needless to say my children didn’t eat them. Mozzarella sticks were good. It’s a deep fryer, how does chicken turn into leather?
To top it all off I was charged for the times I ordered through the App and didn’t receive any food, and don’t worry, the 18% gratuity was added. I’m now in the process of trying to get my money credited back to my card.
