What a special treat and gem within the city of Marquette for all the gluten free families! Absolutely blown away by how delicious the blueberry muffins and cinnamon rolls are. Everything I’ve tried here so far has been absolutely delicious! My husband, and kids didnt realize it was gluten free. I felt scared eating it, expecting to get sick because it all tastes so good, but I’ve never had an issue. Delicious, safe, friendly. I always make a point to stop here when I’m in Marquette.

For those of you that have tried the allergy cakes, you are familiar with their issues. I kid you NOT these cakes do NOT have them. Its moist, tastes like cake not starch. The frosting is BUTTERCREAM that tastes like butter cream. It IS the best vegan bakery I have had in my ten years on veganism. I make the 6 hour drive from Wisconsin at least once a year…so stop by. Eat buttercream vanilla cake (my favorite) and kayak pictured rocks.

As someone newly diagnosed with CD, I can’t even begin to express what a relief it was to know we have this wonderful little bakery as a safe option here in Marquette. It can be so overwhelming adjusting to a gluten free diet! The first time I stopped in I was immediately greeted by the owner who was friendly and knowledgeable about the GF struggle, which was so refreshing because it can feel so lonely and isolating having this dietary restriction. I tried a vanilla raspberry cupcake and took home a slice of chocolate buttercream for a late night guilty pleasure. Both were phenomenal I probably wouldn’t have thought they were GF if I didn’t already know. I am anxious to try more of their products if they are even half as good as the desserts. Very impressed!!!

We stopped in during our weekend visit as we have a friend with Caeliac — and we enjoyed it so much, we came back nearly every day! The pastries and bread are delicious. There are also a variety of to-go sandwiches, take and bake pizzas, and larger cakes in their refridgerated cabinet. The service was always friendly and kind. There are a few window seats where you can enjoy your treats — or walk around town with them! Overall we would highly recommend Honey Haven Baking Co. to anyone visiting Marquette!!

I purchased a loaf of gluten free sourdough for $10. It is very dense and heavy. I sliced it up when I got home, it sliced very easy with my bread knife. I immediately froze half. I cooked the ends into French toast, it had a hard time absorbing egg (I should have poked holes in it), but it tastes amazing!

Recently stopped in to pick up a loaf of sourdough and was fairly disappointed. It was nothing like the type of sourdough I expected where you typically have a hard crust. A nice ear from scoring the bread, nor was the typical shape of a round or batard loaf. It was extremely dense and dry. I was surprised at the actual weight of it (almost 2lbs!). The crumb was lacking, it almost reminded me more of coffee cake than sourdough. While it did have a hint of the sour dough smell it didn’t have the taste, while the taste wasn’t decent all the other parts that make up what I would expect from a sour dough loaf of bread were not there.

I stumbled in to this little shop because their cute sun catcher in the window caught my eye. I was hoping to buy one not really knowing if they sold them or not. They don’t sell them, but as I looked around the place was decorated super cute and the girl at the counter was very pleasant. So I didn’t want to leave without buying something! I quickly browsed over what they had and decided on a chocolate chip cookie sandwich. To my surprise when I got home with it and took a bite it was so delicious! I had noticed the sign outside that said “gluten free dairy free..” and what not but after biting in to this I figure they must offer regular baked goods too! The flavor and texture isn’t like anything I’ve had that has been for anyone with allergies. I had my daughter taste it and she was shocked when I told her after the fact that it was gluten free. She said “how did they do that!?” And when I had my husband tasted it he said “they sit on a throne of lies! There’s no way it’s free of all of that!” needless to say, we highly enjoyed it. It is quite a feat to create good tasting, with good texture baked good that are gluten and dairy free. But the people here have figured it out. It was so good and I will make sure anyone I know that has issues with gluten and dairy tries this place out, as well as people that don’t!

Incredible! I tried the chocolate cake slice and cinnamon sugar sourdough and it was amazing! I really enjoyed both, as someone with celiac. There were so many options! I don’t understand how it’s gluten free BUT ALSO egg and dairy free! I had fun chatting with the staff they were very helpful and friendly! See you later!
