We came here with Hubby’s friend for dinner. The place looked very secluded. Nothing was going on around the restaurant, just the empty parking lot because it was still early. Surprisingly, the food was excellent! I had salmon hibachi, Hubby got a dragon roll, and our friend got beef and shrimp hibachi. We also got a house salad and agadashi tofu. Of course, I had a hot tea to go with my food. So ok, I could skip agadashi tofu. They made it slightly different here, not quite agadashi tofu. The salad’s ginger dressing was excellent. I also got a clear soup, which I thought was quite nice. My hibachi salmon was perfect! I loved the vegetable that was served along with my salmon. Both salmon and vegetables were fresh and cooked perfectly. Even the teriyaki sauce was excellent too. The dragon roll was amazing! It had eel, cucumber, tobiko, and avocado. Try it! We had Lisa to take care of our table. She was a big help! The restaurant is pretty big. I bet a lot of people come in later. We just happened to be there early. I don’t mind coming back next time to try a different dish. The reviews were right. It was excellent!

I cannot say enough good things about my experience at Kasa Sushi Restaurant tonight! I’m visiting from out of town and stay nearby at an airbnb when I’m in town. I’ve been meaning to try this restaurant and I’ll definitely go back! I had the peanut avocado vegetarian roll and cucumber vegetarian roll along with spring rolls and sake. Service was excellent, and I got my food in a flash! They said 15 minutes, and I think it was barely over 5 minutes! The rolls were fantastic, and I’m so excited that there were quite a few vegetarian ones to pick from! Definitely very vegan and vegetarian friendly!

Loved this spot! My partner and I came here for dinner the night after getting into town and were extremely happy with how delicious, fresh and filling everything was. Inari sushi is one of my favorite, and theirs are big, full and tasty. Partner got the pork katsu, said it was 9/10 and on par with some of the best places back home for half the price. I’m a bit annoyed at other reviewers chastising the look/feel of the place – it’s small but charming, cozy, and comfortable; nothing too fancy or trying too hard. The young girl is quite obviously trying her best, and was attentive and understandable the entire time. Guess I’m just a bit more empathetic towards family run businesses whose native language isn’t English but who try. Feel like people just need to be a bit more patient and understanding. Overall, highly recommend for anyone looking for a delicious, authentic and down-to-earth Japanese dinner 🙂

First time coming here. Wasn’t the best food you’d rather just go to Tsunami Sushi.. The miso soup had little to almost no flavor to it only slight. The Salad dressing looked like a cat barfed all over the salad (all chunky). The salad looked like it came out of the fridge along with the bowl it sat in. Thought maybe the sushi would be better than the soup and salad… not quite. Sure the presentation was nice but once again this sushi did not thrill me. DO NOT GET THE PHILLY SINCE IT IS APPARENTLY RAW AND NOT COOKED (it was under the cooked category) Friend thought it was cooked and they got it wrong. They seem to have a plague from 2017..guess they went the wrong way. Step up your game with fresh fish and menu design especially if a item is meant to be in the raw section. People need to know. The ginger was probably the best out of anything which is sad ♀️

We arrived when the restaurant opened at 4:30pm on a Saturday. The staff members were speaking Mandarim Chinese among themselves. We were greeted and served drinks as we perused the menu. We ordered some nigiri sushi which were well presented and delicious. As our meal, we shared three maki rolls which were again well presented and delicious. We were satisfied and can recommend Kasa Sushi Japanese Restaurant in Sarasota, Florida. Enjoy!

Good sushi, the Sarasota roll was amazing, tuna was super fresh on the spicy tuna roll. Little run down, looked family run and the young daughter was helping but not attentive but very nice.

We stopped in for our first time. Looks to be an old fast food place which they turned into a small restaurant. The woman sat us along with being our “server”. The sushi maker actually had to tell her we needed “service”. Although friendly, not very good service. Drink glasses are much smaller than usual. With that said, we didn’t receive 1 drink refill. We ordered appetizers. We ordered the Fantasy sushi, it was very good. Shrimp tempura had 2 shrimp and the rest veggies. Kind of disappointed beings it was very good. The pot stickers/ dumplings were great. We had the hibachi The soup was flavorful. Salad not so great. The rice had a good flavor. The veggies cooked correctly, although sliced very thin. The scallops were small but cooked perfect. The shrimp was as well. The food was Great. The service was lack, although friendly. We will return, but probably takeout. Average prices.

I went to Japan in 2016 and enjoyed some amazing sushi. Being that I live in the midwest I was never able to find a place that could match the sushi in Japan. I am currently on vacation in Sarasota Florida for a friends wedding and came across this gem. The sushi, sashimi, and tempura I had was absolutely fantastic and really brought me back to Japan. It was fresh tasting, focusing on the natural flavor of the fish as well as the sushi rice. Most American sushi restaurants overdue the sauces focusing instead on bold flavors that tend to drown out the natural flavors. Thank you very much for an amazing meal!

Perfectly fine. The building looks a little sketchy, the drive-thru looks even sketchier, but I got the lunch special and it was perfectly good. Nothing extraordinary, but it tasted fresh and I was satisfied. It came with a little salad and some miso soup as well, all for $10.
