I ordered a half of slab of ribs and I chose green beans as my side and the meal comes with cornbread. I can tell by the size of the ribs these were not baby back ribs but traditional pork spareribs. The ribs were tender which is crucial for ribs. I like it when ribs are cooked the last 30 minutes with bbq sauce which gives the ribs more flavor. These were not cooked this way and is why they give you eight sauces to use. I tried their Sweet, Carolina, Memphis and Jalapeño Carolina. I think the Jalapeños Carolina was the best of what I tried. The green beans tasted like they were cooked on the grill then seasoned. They tasted good. The corn bread was the right consistency and tasted good. I received excellent service. This is a cute little bbq joint in Ellisville. There’s a large parking lot in front of the restaurant.

Excellent food and service. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with potato salad. My husband got the buffalo chicken wrap with fries and our son got chicken rings and fries. Everything was hot and delicious! This restaurant is locally owned and they are heavily involved with the community! ❤️

I visited the GastroPit for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon. They have outdoor seating, but I chose to eat inside. The restaurant is long and narrow with a windowed front, like many other strip mall businesses. Dark floor and ceiling with wooden tabletops – a comfortable vibe. It was reasonably busy, but there was plenty of room at the bar, which is where I sat. The bar seats about 8-10 people and has two TV’s. One had sports on, and the other had the Discovery Channel on – which I appreciated. The bartender and other staff member who was helping were particularly nice. Gracious. They made me feel welcome.
For lunch I had six double-cooked Wings (they’re smoked and then lightly fried), and two barbequed shrimp tacos along with a Bud Select in the bottle. The wings were some of the best I’ve had; succulent, cooked & seasoned perfectly…not a hint of dryness, but a tiny bit of crispiness. With the wings, they offer six different sauces on a condiment caddy: Sweet, Carolina, Memphis, Jalapeno something, Bianca, and “Dr. Pepper”. The wings needed no sauce, but I tried them all anyway. All were tasty. The tacos were also delicious. I’d order both of these items again.
In short, this was an excellent experience. Very good service, excellent food, reasonably priced. This is going to be one of my go-to spots.

I’ve been a customer here multiple times in the past; when I ordered tonight I was beyond disappointed. The 3 meat plate, and I ordered 10 oz of burnt ends in addition. I received this; the brisket weighed out to 1.8 oz. Both the other meats were under 3 oz in their sauce. The burnt ends weighed under 8oz in the sauce. I understand raw weight suffers from cooked weight (which isn’t supposed to apply to burnt ends because you literally can’t weigh them until they become burnt ends as a finished product), but this was absolutely awful. I’ve been more satisfied with food at Taco Bell at 3 in the morning. This was $37 dollars worth of food that I would have been stoked with as a $15 lunch special. Oh and the cornbread was slightly burnt

Let me start by saying that I’m not a review person. I very rarely will leave one.
I’ve now had two orders that have been missing ingredients from the menu. I ordered takeout in both instances. Today I ordered the Brisket Bacon Jam Burger. It was missing the Brisket Bacon Jam. So it essentially was a cheeseburger with lettuce. The main reason I had chosen this item was for the jam. So it was a disappointing meal. The last time I had an issue (6 months to a year prior) I ordered the Chicken Club. This sandwich was missing the avocado aioli. So on both occasions my sandwich was missing the ingredient that adds the most flavor. Highly disappointing when you aren’t really eating the item you thought you ordered.
I’ve ordered Gastropit about three times for takeout and twice for catering. The catering has been great, but the individual meals have been fairly disappointing and I’m not sure I can trust that I will receive what I order from here.

Good food and a friendly staff at this BBQ joint. The restaurant is small but clean and has a bar along one side. Parking is somewhat limited. We had the pulled pork nachos and the 3 meat combo meal with fries. Everything tasted good!

Great service. Clean dinning area. Delicious options. As a vegetarian, I enjoyed the portobello sandwich. Boyfriend rated the bbq 7/10, noting ribs weren’t trimmed very well but the burnt ends were yummy.
