No real complaints. Food was very good, service was fine. I’m from the South, so I’m used to more personality from staff. I will come back next time I’m in Escanaba.

I have fond memories of eating pasties in the UP of Michigan during family fishing vacations when I was a young girl. So I was happy to find this traditional pasty place in Escanaba, MI. Prices are fair, and the pasties are excellent with plenty of beef in the filling. The outer pastry was tasty and kind of soft, not crumbly or crunchy. The pasty is served with plastic utensils on a paper plate. There is ketchup or you can pay extra for the delicious beef gravy.
You can order them hot (ready to eat) or frozen so you can take them home to bake later.

I love pasties and am from out of state and decided to try multiple pasty shops on a drive up from Chicago. This one was my favorite!! It has the more traditional dough/crust and a flavorful filling!

Gram’s pasties made 150 mini pasties for our wedding. They were very flexible with ordering and the pasties were a HIT. Very flavorful and everyone loved them. We are so grateful we got to share a taste of the U.P with our guests and Gram’s was the absolute right choice to do so.

Website shutdown but they’re open for business and easily deserve their superb rankings.
I’ve had more than my share of pasties over the years, including in Cornwall, and these were the best ever.
Half a dozen kinds were hot and ready to go so we only needed to wait as long as it took the cashier to take our order, go to the kitchen, and come out with our pasties.
Ordered two and shared: (1) chicken and (2) beef, rutabaga, and carrot. Both superb.

What kind of bummed, I didn’t call ahead for Frozen pasties to take on a trip, they didn’t have any. My bad, stopped on the way back from the trip and picked up a couple hot fresh ones

Best pasties we’ve had, had to come back a second time on the way back home. Hot, fresh & delicious pasties & great, friendly service.
We tried the pulled pork & mac&cheese, taco, pizza, chicken & broccoli, and beef pastie. All were fantastic. Will be back on our next roadtrip!

We wanted to try a pasty as we drove up and around Lake Michigan, so we searched and found this shop along our route. Definitely glad we stopped here. We liked the atmosphere and the customer service was great – easy-going and kind. My sweetheart loves post cards and was glad to find them here. We got the beef and rutabega pasty which reminded us of a pot pie or a stew. Thanks!

This late lunch stop is just a short block off the main highway. It’s an attractive small cafe with a drive through window. I enjoyed the beef and rutabaga pasty which was piping hot. The pastry outer was quite soft; the filling was diced small and pleasantly seasoned. I appreciate the fact that you could taste the vegetables and not too much salt. They are apparently serving close to 400 a day here and it’s easy to see why. You’ll also find this on the classic “Pasty Trail”. Recommended.
