Great small take away spot for the best British foods. Highly recommend the Priddy oggy, sausage rolls and the chicken tikka masala pie. Small selection of British groceries as well.

I’ve tried this place at a few pop up locations but glad I finally got to their brick and mortar spot.

Tried a few hand pies with our favorites being the strawberry rhubarb which had such a rich, natural strawberry flavor. And the potato / onion pie that blew us away with the flavor. You can tell how much attention they put on their dough; perfect texture and bake on everything they have.

Must stop to try.

This place is amazing! Everything I try here is fabulous! I moved out of Philly a long time ago but every year I visit and every time my literal first stop….straight from the airport….is Stargazy. Been doing that for at least 7 years I think and it always helps me look forward to my visit! Once they offer shipping to other states….ill be the first to order!

Million dollar shortbread. Top 3 dessert of my life !!! Get more than one. Perfection. Buttery caramel. Crisp shortbread contrasts with the sweetness and the chocolate ganash mmmm …. Flakes of salt garnish. Perfectly balanced and fresh.

Anything wrapped in the pastry is sooo delicious. Quality and abundance inside is perfection. The homemade sausage yummo! And another pastry filled with pork , onions , bacon maybe. Omg.
Complementary hot tea ☕. Quaint and tiny two tops Inside. Tight squeeze but cozy. Run don’t walk to Stargazy ⭐

Stargazy; it’s named for a kind of fish pie where all the fish heads “look up” out of the crust at the stars. It has a great location, just down Passyunk right before it crosses Broad in South Philly. The storefront itself it pretty unassuming, and the inside is really cramped, but the service is always friendly, and the camaraderie of nearly bumping into with every other patron seems to force people to be friendly. The food is fantastic with a lot of meat pies and pastry options, as well as frozen take-away bake-at-home meals. What I love most about it comes from the first time I visited, It was on a cold night in November, my girlfriend and I got there as they were wrapping up. Most items on the menu were gone, except for what essentially amounted to a British style Thanksgiving pile-’em-up plate.

We try to stop by every visit, but sometimes we stop by more than once.

Ventured into Stargazy on a rainy Saturday afternoon for a cozy takeout experience. Opting not to dine in due to the quaint size of the space, we were nonetheless charmed by its inviting ambiance and the unique selection of pantry items available for purchase. Our order included a hearty Shepherd’s Pie, a flavorsome Cheese and Onion Pasty, a rich Lamb Lancashire Hotpot, and a savory Beef & Onion Pie accompanied by Mash & Parsley Liquor. Each dish was a testament to traditional flavors, with the pastries particularly standing out – a true highlight for anyone with a penchant for baked delights. Despite the limited space, Stargazy offers a heartwarming glimpse into classic cuisine, making every bite worth the visit. Perfect for those seeking authentic, delicious meals on the go. Highly recommend for a taste of comfort, especially on a chilly day!

Visiting this bakery offered a truly unique and unforgettable culinary adventure. The pastry craftsmanship was exceptional, and the flavors of both the beef and onion pie and the sausage roll were outstanding. Between the two, the sausage roll stood out as my favorite, showcasing an incredible level of skill in its creation. Additionally, the millionaire shortbread was a delight. Despite its small size, it was intensely rich, making it a perfect treat to share. A highlight of the experience was the chili-infused vinegar. Its acidity brilliantly cut through the richness of the sausage roll, enhancing its taste with a subtle chili undertone. This combination elevated the entire meal, making it highly recommendable for an enriched dining experience. Thank you, Sam, for bringing your craft to philadelphia. Will definitely be in soon to try one of the special meals…

There is never enough room here, and that’s just because they’re that damn good. The house is always packed! They had Marmite for my gravy, and I only came into buy it. I ended up leaving with a shepherds pie and a pasty. I need to go for their breakfast next time.

The most authentic English food I have had in the USA! The fish and chips are the closest thing to the real thing. You get actual chips, not French fries, and the whole fish fried. You even get mushy peas. Awesome food. The full English breakfast is equally good with everything you would expect, including bacon, sausage, eggs, toast, fried 6 baked beans!

They have a nice selection of frozen and ready to buy food and prepackaged goods like Cadbury chocolate and crisps.

If you want some English food or goods, it is definitely worth the visit. Note they only do the fish and chips on Friday and the English breakfast on Saturday.
