My family recently hosted my sister’s baby shower at the lovely Lady Camellia! The venue was absolutely beautiful, perfect for a tea time event with a waterfront view. The service was excellent, staff were very attentive and frequently asked for our preference with refilling sandwiches and desserts. They were very accommodating and even made dietary adjustments as necessary. Debby was especially helpful in coordinating all of the details for the day and made sure that everything went smoothly. Would highly recommend this venue to anyone planning a special event. We had a wonderful experience, thank you Lady Camellia for making our day so special!

Located in Old Town Alexandria, parking can be tricky. There is street parking and garages but definitely give yourself extra time to arrive and park. We had a reservation and was sat pretty quickly but we did have someone running late so not sure if they were just waiting for that person to show before coming to the table and asking for our order even for drinks. Very cute inside and easy to chat during the experience.
We did end up asking if we could just put an order first and ordered for them. Pretty easy to follow menu. We all opted for the Full Tea except for one who did High Tea. I ordered the Sakura Sencha for my tea and honestly don’t remember all my options as they had combined it on the same tower as my friend sitting across from me so we ended up sharing a little bit of everything.
My husband did get the Beef Bourguignon English Pie and that was delicious and hearty. I also really enjoyed the Tea Sandwiches (Egg Salad and the Chicken Salad were my favorite).
The Tea was good but very small leaves where the strainer provided didn’t really help.
Overall, an interesting experience and something I would do again.

High level: I really enjoyed doing lunch here, but you’re paying more for the ambiance than the food itself.
The location is lovely by the water, and the restaurant is delightfully decorated. It’s a bit cramped, but it wasn’t too loud when I was there. The teas were very nice, and the food was good. I wasn’t too impressed with the sandwiches. The pastries were all nice but nothing blew my mind. The staff were kind and courteous. It’s a tea party, so I think if you go in expecting to pay for good (not great) food and tea for a bit more than you’d get at any other non- tea party restaurant, then you’ll be happy with the choice.

The atmosphere was amazing; however, the food was less than desirable. My grand daughter & I were very excited to attend our tea time yesterday and drove over an hour to attend. The food was terrible! The cucumber tea sandwiches were tasteless & the chicken salad was just awful. Neither of us could get through the first bite. The tea, plain scone & croissant for her were very good.
The tarts, macaroons, ganache… everything tasted plain. We had fun together, but would never recommend this establishment ever. I paid almost $160 for our experience yesterday and all I could do was think of my local tea room in Havre De Grace, MD and how delicious experience I had with them!

My friends and I have had tea at Lady Camellia’s for years now, and it is always a good experience! The food is amazing, even for my friend who has several dietary restrictions. My favorite tea there, as someone who doesn’t really like tea, is the strawberry white tea. Everything is so gorgeous and a perfect place for women!

Just had the most terrible service. Made a reservation at 2:30, was not seated until 2:45. Did not receive a crumb of food until 3:40. Was seated jammed in the corner by the bussing station and had a constant slamming of plates and silverware the whole meal despite every single table in the place being open except two. (See photos)
Spent hundreds and the crusts weren’t even neatly trimmed from the sandwiches. Not one single nice comment or welcome from the staff. Unacceptable.

Have a great baby shower event here. Staff are great and the place has lot of bright light even on a cloudy day. Wonderful location in the heart of Old Town Alexandria.

Small and tiny location, with barely any room to move around in. Although we had reservations, we still had to wait for 20 minutes for our table. Although the website did not state dress code, customers should be dressed as if one is attending a day wedding (my reservation was for 4, but because one of my party was dressed rather casually, the servers tried to place us for a table for 3.) That assumption annoyed us but once seated, our opinion changed. The food and service is excellent even though this was rather pricey. Recommend this for special events.

A great place to enjoy your birthday! I was here celebrating my day. I enjoyed every minute. The location, the ambiance, the wait staff… everything came together perfectly! There was so much leftover it was beautifully boxed as if I was purchasing an item from Tiffany! Will definitely be back soon!

Very lovely I’ve come here more than once and it’s quiet and the food is tasty. Definitely recommend for the tea lover in your life. Great for special occasions and birthdays.
