Homey diner serving hearty breakfasts, Reuben sandwiches, gourmet salads & other lunch specialties.

We came here as a third option because the only places had long waits. I am shocked at all the positive reviews because this was the worst breakfast I think I have ever had. I actually left with a headache. The cinnamon toast had so much sugar that I couldn’t even eat it. The way the French toast was made and the texture was unlike anything I’ve had. I love French toast and couldn’t eat this. The pancakes tastes fine but are made like crepes. Fine but it should be advertised as such. Service was decent. Would not recommend at all.

Loved the sausage gravy!! It came as a side of the chicken and waffles and was delicious! The whipped maple butter on the perfect French toast was a lot but I just scraped it to the side and used what I wanted but it was VERY good. We were there on a Thursday morning around 830 and the service was wonderful. Only about 5 other tables were occupied at that time.

Very pleasantly surprised. Food came out fast, fast service, well priced, simple basic menu, but large portions. The menu isn’t particularly creative, not a $20 avocado hipster kind of place.
We particularly noted that the higher ceilings and more spacious area made it much quieter, not noisy at all, which we greatly appreciated. Plenty of parking given it is in an office building. Really easy to get too off of meridian.
Had a party of 7 with two young children, everyone had a good time.

Well let’s get this straight…this restaurant is a classic and really doesn’t need another five-star review, but here we go…
Every time I dine at Sunrise Café, there’s a personable greeting, usually from
Jack—who always gives me the table I want and reassures me that I can still order breakfast even though it is 10:59! (Note: the lunch menu starts at 11:00 and includes some breakfast items.)
Today, my server was Becca, she was literally perfect. She made great suggestions. She was very attentive, but not overly attentive. She was always smiling and very personable.
Becca’s recommendation was something I had overlooked on the menu and it was delicious!
I ordered the bagel with over easy eggs, plus hashbrowns, crispy bacon, and you guessed it a side of French toast!
If you’re a solo traveler, writer, or working remote…if you’re a big party or a family with kids…it doesn’t really matter this staple in Carmel, Indiana, is a must try for breakfast or brunch.
This eatery’s location—in the middle of the Caramel business district—makes it perfect for business meetings.
There’s plenty of space and the ambiance is uniquely Indiana. You will see pictures of the Pacers, the Colts and even images honoring public servants.
In addition to the open seating areas, some dim discrete corners are also available for those events requiring more privacy.
The food is always delicious. And the service is exceptional…Owners Lisa and Jim are there pretty much every day to make sure your expectations are exceeded!
Thank you so much everyone at sunrise Café for the years of service you’ve given to the city of Carmel! And thanks for my great breakfast! Becca’s service motivated this review!
Thanks again everyone at Sunrise Café!

Sunrise Cafe is a little out of the way in a business center building but it is well worth finding. The cafe itself is chic and elegant, a little dark, a little muted, and the service was top notch. I had the classic eggs Benedict which was delicious. My kids had the biscuits and gravy and hash browns, which they said were average. The coffee was good, the service was good, the price was pretty well matched to the food. We will definitely come back again, I would like to try the crepes and the pancakes.

had the Hoosier Benedict, One egg! Wow, it was so small, half of a soggy English Muffin, small sausage patty, salty gravy. My side choice was fruit or chips. I assumed they were a breakfast potato but they were just Ruffles. Coffee was cold, service was barely friendly. Dropped the check and that was the last time I saw her. My wives tradition Benedict was uninspired, powdered mix Hollandaise sauce. The fruit was good.
$30 left hungry and disappointed. I would not recommend this restaurant with so many breakfast locations close by.

If you work in either of the Meridian Mark buildings, Sunrise Cafe is no doubt the most convenient lunch option. Food is typically average. Service is great. My only complaint is the price of menu items for what you get. I’ve included two photos of two BLTs. One from Sunrise Cafe and one from Sunny Day Cafe just up the street. Sunrise markets their BLT as “not your typical BLT” but it comes with bacon, lettuce, and tomato…furthermore, fries are a $2.50 up-charge. The only thing not typical about it is the price. You will absolutely get charged extra for convenience at Sunrise. Prices in photos include tax and exclude tip.
The rest of the menu items at Sunrise are equally overpriced. I’m sorry to leave this review as I’ve been eating at Sunrise for a couple years now and always have great service but….save yourself the money and go somewhere else for the same food or better.

It felt like a senior citizen cafeteria. While the food wasn’t bad, it wasn’t inspiring either. The service was very good though, kind and engaging.

Always excellent service and perfectly prepared food. Bacon cooked to 3 levels !! I ask for crispy and it’s crispy. The pancakes are thin , near crepes , not common in these here parts. One of my favorite aspects , when your food is done , a dedicated food delivery person brings it directly to your table. No waiting on a busy server or missed on the countertop. The entrance is around back , bottom floor of an office building. Shucks , I’m ready to go back again…..

Good breakfast and a good price. Pancakes are nice and thin, almost crepe size. Our girls loved them and requested to return the following day.
