An excellent turn from dive to diner. The interior is unrecognizable from The Columbia as it was. While I have many fond memories in the old local, it is refreshing to walk through the new doors, full glass facing Nucleus, and to feel none of the decades before still clinging to the space (I understand every inch of the place was painstakingly scraped down). The atmosphere is clean and concise, the staff kind and welcoming, and the food is quite excellent.
This isn’t some new greasy spoon. We left very satisfied, only lacking the lead weight from unnecessarily heavy food. Even the house potatoes were crunchy out, soft inside, and clear of oil saturation. My over medium eggs were perfect, the French toast with buttered maple syrup was delightful.
My friends thoroughly enjoyed their biscuits & gravy, and chicken-fried steak with a side of waffles. Everything came out at once, and in a very timely manner.
Again, the staff are wonderful, keeping up with us at the table without us ever feeling rushed or moved along.
We’ve planned on making it here weekly from now on, with the occasional addition of breakfast burritos for take-away, once you’ve been you’ll understand.

The weekend was here and I was in search for a new breakfast place to try. I Googled local breakfast places and Columbia Cafe caught my eye. Upon arrival the eatery is spaced out with plenty of room & happy chattered throughout. ( a happy feel)
I sat at the bar and the waitress indicated they had just opened less than a week ago … and it showed. The whole staff was running around frantically as the place was busting with business.
The staff behind the bar were extremely friendly, and each one of them greeted me.
I ordered and have to say I was disappointed by the food. My order was taken wrong and when corrected it proved bland with no flavor. The potatoes tasted as though they were frozen, but she insisted that they were freshly made. The coffee was not the best and they could not provide an additional cream. On the upside- I see that they provide fresh squeezed orange juice. (A+ for those who enjoy that)
The other slight inconvenience was if you were seated by the door and it gets opened the chilled cold air enters and can be frigid.
I’m not gonna be too harsh on this place since it just opened & there’s plenty of time for improvement. I would just suggest a little more focus on the food. I do believe their customer service and overall vibe is headed in the right direction. Happy Eating ️

Today I got to be a part of Grand opening. The staff is super welcoming and shared with us their favorite dishes. I got the curry chicken wrap and it aaa nice and light. Refreshing actually My brother got the hamburger and i was too busy recording his dish. Lol i also ordered the fresh squeezed orange juice. Yummmmm. Overall my experience was fantastic. Also the atmosphere is very comforting with the lights. I felt cozy

We just ate here on Tuesday and had a great experience! It’s so nice to have another option in downtown Columbia Falls. We tried the club sandwich, chipotle chicken sandwich and the curry chicken wrap. Everything was really good and the fries were hot and crispy! They currently are only serving breakfast until 11:30 but we were told that will change with time. Really hoping they get a liquor license because adding mimosas and other breakfast cocktails to their menu would take this place to the next level!

We haven’t been in since the rebranding of Columbia Bar, and it was well worth the wait!
We went for a classic breakfast and their AMAZING waffles with bananas and blueberries. Soft, fluffy and HUGE. The bacon, eggs and hash browns are phenomenal and toast was perfectly buttered and crisp to soak up my eggs. Bacon is thick cut and super yum. Hash browns not too greasy and flavorful.
HAND SQUEEZED orange juice. So good. Fast service and everyone is smiling, warm, cheerful and inviting. I love the layout that hasn’t changed to make it feel familiar for locals while open and accessible for anyone that comes in. It’s very lit with sunlight and I love the atmosphere and chill music.
To top all this off, BABS (Miss Barbara) – our server – was the highlight with her presence and fine service skills. She was so kind and fun to chat with! Thank you so much for our very anticipated return and lovely time. We will be back again and again 🙂

I’ve been to this Cafe twice now with family members and each time has been a wonderful experience. The food is phenomenal, excellent quality and comes out quick compared to other places I’ve been. It tastes amazing, obviously. The sizes of the food really fits the price, i felt like i was getting a great deal! The atmosphere is nice, it feels very cozy when you’re there. The staff is super friendly and helpful, too! Our last visit, our server Babs was very considerate and gave us plenty of time to pick what we wanted to eat. She was very respectful and had a bright and cheerful demeanor, its people like her that make places like this worth going to. Im 100% gonna come back here, even if its just for some of the chai tea, which btw is super tasty.

I’m really disappointed to leave this review but I’m more disappointed about our experience. My wife and I called in a to go order. We got a Benedict and a pancake with extra sides as they dont offer a basic pancake breakfast. I spoke with the young man who was very clueless about the pos system and how to put in the order. I go to get my order and ask for extra syrup for the pancakes. I get home and no pancakes. I get back in the car and drive back to the Columbia and the manager says oh he didn’t ring you up for pancakes so I say OK I’ll just pay for them. I get back home and the Benedict was covered with sooooo much hollandaise it wasn’t even edible I mean it was absolutely bathing in the stuff, my wife tried scraping out the “edible parts” but it was just soooo much. Neither meal was all that great and the hash browns taste frozen and are very stale. I called and left a message explaining my experience and never even got a call back. This is why these “Ruiz restaurants” always fail. Way too much staff, staff that has no clue what they are doing and then the inability to resolve issues for paying customers. You guys took out the Columbia Bar for this place ? What a shame. We will not be back and we will definitely tell others about this experience.

We tried this cafe after reading a recommendation on Facebook. The inside was brightly lit, clean, and welcoming. Our waitress was incredibly sweet, helpful, and friendly. We went in for breakfast and our party ordered french toast, pancakes, bacon, and hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were a little crispy, but still had a great flavor. Everything else tasted excellent.
