After navigating the insane parking lot I had a great meal and great service, great people & great music the Mariachis were turned out well. I had the fish “chicharon” (which was basically just fried tilapia ) as appetizer and I wanted to try the culichis so I did, they are extremely fresh and also I was impressed by the rice and beans that came with it I’m not a huge rice fan but these were really good. Even though it was kind of crazy to order all this food I had the gobernador taco. I managed to eat it all. I really wanted to try the campechana but I didn’t want to drive back to Los Angeles slopping around a bunch of seafood so that just means I’ll have to go there for that … and the green ceviche… and a number of other things that I saw on the menu that looked really good. The server’s name was Angelica and I want to give a shout out to her for being helpful in trying out the Nayarit specials. The fried tilapia was pretty basic but the spicy green sauce really helped to perk it up. I probably wouldn’t order that again.
Also , nothing to do with a restaurant per se, but: I had the strange experience of watching an 8-year-old child drink mayonnaise right from the squeeze bottle without the four adults around him doing anything about it. Even if it weren’t a Time of pandemic this made my mind real to think that all of the squeeze bottle condiments I’ve ever used in my lifetime and my stomach turned. But it didn’t keep me from eating the good food.

I’ve always enjoyed the food at Las Islitas. It’s good food.
What lowered the rating on my review was the service. Yes, we had a huge party. But the reservations were made in advance. Management could have assigned more than one waiter/waitress, reducing the stress on our waitress. She did look quite unhappy. It was an eye opening reflection of their organization.
Regardless, I enjoyed myself for the occasion.

They are doing their best with outdoor dining, but service is really slow and flies everywhere. Told the manager 3x to get me the tab because waitress was busy, he kept forgetting. Finally after like 15 minutes I told waitress that I had been waiting for tab and she went to get it. Food was decent drinks were better lol.

The only good thing here was the customer service. The waitresses were attentive and professional. The food however, nasty. I went to the Delano location a few weeks ago and it was so good I drove all the way there again the next day. This Bakersfield location is NOT THE SAME. I got the exact same order as the Delano one and was so disappointed. It came with no avocado, the camarónes tasted gross, they didn’t soak long enough in lime. Terrible, terrible. I didn’t even finish my tostada. I will not be returning to this location, I will only be going to the Delano one. If you tried this location and was left disappointed, give the Delano Las Islitas a try!! I’m so sad because I have been craving this for over a week only to be left so disappointed.

I was highly recommend to this restaurant..but the experience was bad… i was looking forward to my tacos fish and my partner was looking forward to 7 mares soup and requested to make it spicy .. well it’s been 40 mins I could see my food still seating on the counter for almost 10 mins .. and when my food arrive it was cold … I’m done with this experience ✌️ bye

Waited about 40 minutes to receive my food when we were the only people there, the lady stood right infront of me and waited for me to pay right away, instead of leaving the receipt and walking away, the lady had attitude and snatch the receipt out my hand and the first thing she checked was to see if we left a tip

This place was awesome. We realistically came just because my brother had never had an escargot tostada. When we got there and asked, they weren’t sure because they called it something different. The server literally brought out the raw ingredient just to make sure. They had live music going table to table. The environment was cool. The food was good, salsa was spicy and flavorful. Overall, it was a great experience.
