My wife called me and demanded I get on here and leave a great review for Shippy. She specially said “he’s the greatest bartender of all time” her and a few friends are going to a concert at PPG and stopped by here for a few pre concert drinks. So props to Shippy for treating the girls right on ladies night out.

The steak sandwich at this place is EXCELLENT! I rarely ever get a steak sandwich at a bar because it tastes like a steakum but this place uses good meat and all fresh vegetables that go on the sandwich. It was recommended by a very cool bartender we got to meet named shipwreck . He made us feel welcomed the time we were there. If you’re in town for anything at PPG this is the place to go because it’s close walking distance And it’s an all-out good time!

Stopped by for dinner before the Three Days Grace concert with my boyfriend. Loved the atmosphere, idk if Rock is their usual vibe or they were keeping the concert in mind, but every song hit. Only negative feedback was the server didnt ask if we wanted any mods to our food (example, how I wanted my burger done) and didn’t even take the time to answer what drinks they had available. It also took a while to actually pay for our meal once we were done. But the food was great regardless and the server was really nice!

Shipwreck, the bartender, makes the experience in this little old dive bar a great experience. He’s very knowledgeable, friendly and outgoing. He provides great service. Great bar food. Just needs more space for the crowd at the bar

Downstairs shipwreck is the best bartender in Pittsburgh. He knows how to entertain, makes a fantastic drink. Food comes out on time. Anyone before penguin game concert or anything else PPG go to Souper Bowl and see Shipwreck!!

You need a different bartender. I sat for 10 minutes waiting while he was too busy sharing personal life stories with other customers. Said he’ll be right with me and went right back to sharing his emotions with everyone else who already got to get their food and drinks. I walked out. Will not come back.

What a great experience! I’m in town for work, and after eating mediocre burgers all week (I’m carnivore), I came across this gem. 1st off, it’s refreshing to get good service, but my expectations were way exceeded when my food came out. I ordered their carnivore burger, which has bacon & pulled pork on it. The burger was cooked perfectly, the bacon was crispy, and the pulled pork was as juicy as ever. The cook even came out to ask me what I thought. 🙂 I’m hoping to go back later today. That was a tasty burger!

This review is specifically for the street level bar. The middle aged bartender guy kept walking past 3 of us ignoring for almost 15mins. When we asked can we get a drink got passive aggressive and later disrespectful. We went upstairs after finishing our drink. Staff working upstairs were great and took care of us even though it was very busy before a concert at ppg.
