Farmer in the Dell stands out by following, and clearly surpassing the critical tenets of what makes for an outstanding locally-owned dining destination. That includes friendly, prompt and responsive service, food made fresh and tasty, and a community spirit that suggests this dining out spot is in it for all the right reasons. From the often packed parking lot to the “everyone seems to know each other” vibe, this is the ultimate hometown eatery. Plus, it’s cozy, comfortable and beyond welcoming!

The theme is farm-to-table cuisine. This is not just a trendy marketing phrase, but an innate reality, consistently and lovingly embedded into the restaurant’s DNA.

I’ve greatly enjoyed Farmer in the Dell’s breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Some of my favorites: the breakfast sandwiches, roasted turkey flatbread, chicken salad, brisket, flatbread pizzas, ham and cheese sandwich, and roasted chicken dinner. For something sweet, the scones, whoopie pies and muffins often surpass in taste those high profile bakeries in Boston that think they’re really good. Additionally, Farmer in the Dell serves a surprisingly good gelato.

Ultimately, I regard Farmer in the Dell as a definite go-to place southwest of Boston. I generally don’t write online Google reviews, but Farmer in the Dell is so good that I felt compelled to do so!

The brisket was so tender! The flavor of the e gravy was fantastic, the staff is pleasant and very kind and attentive. The pastries and baked good not only look amazing but taste even better. If you’re in the area I would highly recommend Farmer in the Dell

They’re funky hours. It’s not open early enough in the morning. The cappuccinos are made by a little machine – not a real machine so they lack that incredible Italian taste that you get in a real coffee shop.

Baked goods look beautiful but if you’re gluten-free there’s no options except for some toast.

It really could be so much more but they’re stuck.

The person at the front counter was extremely friendly, personable. She was welcoming and very attentive to what I wanted to eat. The food was more of a mixed bag, though I only had baked goods. I had a “Lemon Coffee Roll” that while looked delicious, was flat, dry and somewhat lacking in flavor. Honestly it was slightly dissapointing. I also sampled the lemon loaf which was much more satisfying in texture, although it could’ve used some more lemon flavor. The coffee was hot, light and not burnt – perfectly enjoyable as it were. Maybe I caught them on an “off” day or didn’t get the right items, but I expected a little better. None the less, they had a good selection and as I said – the service, was very friendly! I would likely give them one more try.

The Vietnamese rolls were delicious and the peanut sauce was some of the best I’ve had! I also tried a few bites of different pastries (I love to sample).

I tried the apricot almond cinnamon roll, the raspberry coconut pastry bites and the sugar cookies.

Everything I tried was fabulous, AND they have Harney and Sons Tea (excellent choice, and my favorite next to The Republic of Tea), so I had an almond milk Turmeric Ginger Latte, which hit the spot as well!

You can taste that all ingredients are real, and the food is a decent price in spite which is good because I will definitely be back.

This was my first visit, and I was very pleased. I did not love my harvest bowl (just wished it was a little more flavorful), but the breakfast sandwiches and pastries were amazing! This is a very cute spot to grab takeout or just enjoy a cafe setting.

Delicious. Ordered salads with grilled chicken and macaroni and cheese for our kids. Everything tastes made-to-order. Service was friendly and accommodating as well. We’ll be back!

This was my first time at the Farmer in the Dell. I have several friends who said they love this place. I was impressed. This is not a typical sandwich place like Subway or other franchise sub shop. Their menu is very elegant and very specialized. It was honestly a little fancy for my tastes. It was highend food but their prices were great. I would have expected to pay more having seen the menu details in their food. All the food looked fresh and well prepared. I scanned what everyone else was eating. They also had fresh lemonade which was a nice treat.
