I’ve been told we make the best Mac and Cheese in San Diego . All our sides are homemade and made with extra love and care. The portions and prices are incredible !! Wow!!! Food was so good!!!! Clara can cook!! I got the lemon pepper chicken with potato salad and Mac and cheese and she gave me a mashed potato and everything was awesome! I tried my friends peach cobbler and that was awesome too!! And the sweet tea to top it off was great!!! Will be back for sure!!!

Straight up, this is one of the best soul Food restaurants in San Diego, California. Since imperial Fish market closed down, we haven’t known where to go. I am really into surf and soul, but I will tell you this place may have surf and soul beat!!! The greens are delicious. The macaroni and cheese is so creamy but the best part is the catfish. I was hungry and decided to have soul food for dinner and found this kitchen online.
It was absolutely delicious and left me stuffed!
For dinner I had garlic chicken, buttered spinach, and mac n’ cheese, and finally for dessert peach cobbler.
I died and went to heaven with every bite and it’s so good.
Real food, reasonably priced, and made with love.
Please come try her food, you won’t be disappointed!

Had an awesome experience having Clara’s for the first time! Ordering was a little clunky because her ordering system was not working right but she was very responsive via call/text so no problem sorting it out! I tried the smothered porkchops, Mac and cheese and dirty rice. Everything was super delicious and flavorful! I really felt like I was eating at my aunt’s house who always made amazing soul food! She was out of the peach cobbler and cornbread dressing but after trying what she did have, I’m super excited to order again soon and try those along with other entrees! I live pretty close but definitely worth the drive to pick up some great food that truly isn’t readily available all over SD!

So I am.adding to my review..over the last 3 weeks I tried some new items from Clara’s Kitchen..when I tell you the smothered neckbones and spinach is otherworldly please believe me..Roz is ever so sweet, professional., and engaging!! I live for her ever menu and all the unexpected add on too. HER COOKING IS A MUST TRY!!!

I love soul food so I’m always looking for a good place to get it and let me tell you she did not disappoint. The catfish was perfectly delicious the Mac and cheese creamy goodness and the greens were kicking. I want to try the chicken next all the flavors lol I will definitely be going back. This girl can cook, cater, do funerals, do birthdays, do any event you would want. She is the best cook in San Diego, very reasonable and if there’s nothing on the menu you like, ask her, she may just cook it for you.
