I came here mostly knowing Güllüoğlu for its desserts, but decided to try breakfast instead. Honestly, I didn’t expect much. I was wrong.
I ordered a simple breakfast with gözleme and kuymak, and both arrived quickly and well presented. The gözleme had a nice crisp on the outside while staying soft inside, and the filling was satisfying without overpowering the dough. It felt more like comfort food than a café item.
The kuymak was surprisingly good. Warm, rich, and smooth, with melted cheese that held together perfectly. It wasn’t overly heavy or oily, which made it easy to enjoy without feeling overwhelmed. You could tell it was made with attention, not shortcuts.
What stood out to me most was the overall calm of the place. No chaos, no rush. Just a relaxed environment where you can actually sit, talk, and enjoy your meal. The staff was polite and efficient, doing their job quietly and well.
People talk a lot about the sweets here, and I understand why, but breakfast deserves more recognition. If you’re nearby in the morning and want something different from the usual options, this place is worth stopping by.

I’ve been waiting FOREVER for a place that serves real kuymak, and Güllüoğlu absolutely delivered! The breakfast was incredible — everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The kuymak was exactly what I’ve been craving for ages.

When we came to your bakery for breakfast last week, everything was absolutely wonderful. Especially the kuymak we had from Mine Abla’s hands It truly reminded us of authentic Black Sea kuymak — we didn’t miss it at all, the taste is still on our minds.

They’ve changed their baklavas since the last time I came, and they’re INCREDIBLE now! Jersey unfortunately is a place where you can find plenty of variety, but real quality is rare. This was a wonderful experience! The customer service was top tier. They are very knowledgeable regarding flavor, food density, and taste. They had a variety of treats all the perfect size, and shockingly they also offer hot food. The decor was really nice even have a few homemade things like jam and treats to buy and take home or gift. I was craving a Turkish breakfast that reminded me of Istanbul. I hopped on a train from NYC because you cannot find a Turkish breakfast or Turkish pastries on the island of Manhattan. I walked in and felt like I was in Istanbul again. The staff greeted me enthusiastically and warmly. I knew I had made the right decision to come within 60 seconds of walking in.
I ordered the cheese platter. It was so fresh and delicious. Honey, cheese, veggies, bread. I had a cup of Turkish tea as well. It was so good I had 2 more! To go, I took some cheese borek and a poacha. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very attentive while I ate, making sure to check on me and asking if I needed anything while my food began to disappear. 10/10. It was worth the travel. 30 min to feel like I went back to Istanbul. I will eat here again and bring my Turkish family.
