My friend and I stopped at “The Backyard” during our road trip through California. We had so much fun at this laid back, outdoor eating restaurant. It had an extensive beer menu and the food was very good. The workers were so friendly, even helping to point out some must-sees while in the area. If you had a larger group, this would be a fun place to reserve as they have some fun seating areas for a group. I’ll come back if I’m in the area again.

Super helpful staff- he put his steps in getting info from the kitchen for me. Suggestions for food and wine/cider pairings were excellent. Food was prompt and good. Outdoor seating was plentiful.

10/10. The space is so cute. Picnic tables. Shaded couches and lounge chairs, bar seating, shade and sun, there’s a spot for everyone. They have a turf fenced in area that might be like a kids play area but we were the only ones back there so we let our dogs off leash.. seemed to be okay, which was excellent for us. The food was excellent. Mushroom tacos hit the spot. They have the best French fries I have ever had. In my life. It’s like a potato wedge they slice into flat little strips. Phenomenal. Cool beer selection and they have a very decent hard kombucha selection which was exciting. Loved it, would be back

Fun Biergarten on the outskirts of downtown Paso Robles. I had their veggie burger and a local ipa. Both were tasty. Tons of seating and lots of shade, very dog friendly.

Food came out at different intervals which sucked for the three of us. Food was delicious.
Service is great. Huge selection of beers on tap and can/bottle. AND they have a big selection of non alcoholic beers. Dog friendly . Come hang out . 🙂

Unfortunately it is kid friendly and from our time their we saw a lot of parents with really young kids, drinking and letting the little kids run around without supervision, we had two little kids come up to our table to try and eat our food. Not cool and shouldn’t be allowed:

Great ambiance! Casual, fun. Perfect place to meet up- large group or small. All kinds of seating choices, heaters, sun, shade, fire-pits, living room groupings on sofas or picnic tables.

Amazing beer and wine selection, reasonable prices.

Roots on Railroad has delicious food- something to please almost everyone. We loved the generous smash burger and wonderfully crispy shoestring fries.

Enjoy!!

Drinks and ambience were good. The food was incredibly disappointing and overpriced for what it was. We got the shrimp po boys- the bread was probably 80% of the sandwich, it had 6 pieces of shrimp and a lot of lettuce/tomato. Was not even remotely worth the $18 bucks.

Maybe we just ordered poorly and the rest of the food is decent- seems to be a well reviewed place overall. Would not recommend the shrimp po boy.

Very chill vibes, easy to be spaced out and required masks when not sitting at your table, so we felt safe here. The food was amazing and they have a fair amount of options for drinks. The Ahi Poke Burrito with Flaming Hot Cheetos is just as crazy as you’d imagine, but rest assured, it tastes AMAZING! It’s huge, so you might have leftovers, but the meal is worth it. Get it with some fries and you’ll be good to go!

This is the place to be! Amazing from every angle and season! Very well designed to welcome all. Real California living!
Not enough said about the premise but now the food…. delicious! Had the Tritip Cobb and the 8-0 Fries.
Back to how amazing this place is….. during HOT days, mist water everywhere. At night, fire pits, heaters and everywhere comfortable seating. Ambient music and relaxed atmosphere!
Great Wine and Beer deflections! Why spend time on a wine tour when ALL can enjoy the drink of their choice. The staff is above and beyond without intruding in your privacy! Wow, this is a fantastic find! We’ll be back soon!
