We visited this place twice while my grandson was in the Cross County Nationals in Nov 2025. I saw the signage from a distance, as I was just telling my daughter we needed to visit a local business or bakery and this store magically appeared on our radar. We were welcomed into the bakery with the heavenly smell of pies and cakes, but not overwhelming…just like grandma’s place. My grandson got the ice cream, my daughter a slice of strawberry cake and I cannot remember the name of mine but it was a two-toned black and white cake. We returned to our vehicle, tasted our cake and we LOVED it, my grandson said he loved his ice cream. We went back the next day and got our fix, knowing we had less than 24 hours left in KY. So we got a lot of slices of cake and I tried the key lime pie slice. All of the cakes were delish, my most favorite was a tie between the red velvet and strawberry. However, the key lime pie is not what I am used to and it missed the mark for me with one less star. If I were ever in KY again, I would definitely return to get more cake!!

On July 12th walked in to purchase a piece of Apple Pie and purchase a whole Chocolate Chess pie. Got home to warm up the Apple Pie it was filled with green and white mold. Called up to the restaurant to advise them. The young lady had me send her a picture of the pie to her cellphone and she gasped on the call and told her co worker to pull it. She got my name and number but til this day I never heard back from anyone.

I ordered a coconut cream pie and what I got was mostly cream. It was barely a pie. I’ve never ordered a coconut pie and only received cream. I tried to tell the lady that on the phone but she was getting defensive and hung up on me. Waste of $30 I was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. This was my first time ordering from this location. Never again will I order from this location smh. She claimed it was pie pudding but when did I order pie pudding?? Smh shame. I tried to cut it into slices once I got home and realized there was no pie. The little crust created the illusion that there was pie underneath but it was only a bunch of cream. Don’t try to argue with me because you don’t know what a pie is. That’s nothing to get defensive about. I should get a full refund for this fraud of a pie.

The staff working tonight was so pleasant — which is rare these days! You can tell they genuinely enjoy their jobs. They treated each customer promptly and added a fun touch with light jokes and goofy puns. I wish I were local to Louisville, because I’d definitely be swooping up these employees to come work for me. Oh, and the pie was great too!

Absolutely loved this place and the service. I can’t remember the gals name that gave us excellent service, but she sure needs to be recognized for her outstanding customer service. With her permission I’m posting her picture. She is wonderful!!!! The ice cream for sure you can tell homemade. It is excellent!!! Loved it so much will be back. So many different flavors. This was the second place we visited during our recent trip to Louisville. We wanted to try something similar to derby pie while in the area. The staff was nice and there were all kinds of seemingly amazing options, but when it came down to it we didn’t like the pies we chose. Perhaps our Ohio taste buds are primed for different things. I don’t know.

My experience at this restaurant was bittersweet. The staff is lovely, always willing to help and with a smile on their face. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was not up to par. The cheesecake, in particular, did not meet my expectations. I hope they can improve this aspect, since the rest of the experience was very pleasant.

Decent and generous ice cream, great ice creams! Immediately loved this place, will return next trip! I wish I stayed in LOUISVILLE; ST LOUIS sucks sooooo bad, I hate it. I WISH I WAS HAVING ICE CREAM AND PIE at HOMEMADE in Louisville…………………
