I usually visit Muncie in the summer, so when I come here, it’s usually empty at the cup. This time I had an iced latte and a breakfast sandwich, both of which were excellent. This is always one of my must visit stops when I return to my hometown.

The Cup is one of the best coffee houses I’ve ever been to in my life!!! I used to live in San Francisco, so I have been to a ton of coffee houses… The Cup is located near the Ball State and is in walking distance from the main campus. I highly recommend The Cup for a quick bagle and a double Cappuccino!!! Enjoy and safe
travels!!!

Would not recommend coming here! As it is on a college campus you would think it would be okay to come in and study, and the female worker came in and rudely asked my friend and I to leave. We offered to buy items off the menu before sitting but she was not friendly whatsoever and basically excused it as “the boss is strict” so asking us to leave? Not professional and have not heard good things enough to keep coming back.

Not too much has changed at this tried-and-true Ball State meeting spot. Called The Empty Cup when I was a local resident years ago, this cafe has maintained it’s small town feel with it’s big city taste! I had a frozen blended drink on my visit that put all others to shame.

The service was top-shelf and I was more impressed that despite a line of at least 6-deep, with people ordering food AND drinks, there was only one guy on duty. But, he handled like a pro and his attitude was second to none as he served quickly, safely, and with a smile. Since they got rid of Dill Street, this all that’s left from back in the day, and that’s alright.

I love the vibe and concept of this place but I warn you about going. My biggest problems are that their prices are very expensive for a coffee shop near a college campus and their lackadaisical customer service. Their sandwiches and drinks are too overpriced, especially when its rumored that they get ingredients from ALDI. Most mornings it seems like only one person is working both the front counter and drive-thru, so if you are going in the morning before work, don’t expect to be in/out. In drive-thru they fail to give napkins (look at you crazy when you ask for some) and barely make eye contact. The most disturbing thing is that a few of their employees will be seen smoking outside, when you go to the register for an order they will take your order and then begin making the order without washing their nasty hands. Unfortunately I have given this place multiple chances, especially since Muncie does not have a lot of coffee shops near campus but I have to stop trying to enjoy this place. If you have to I strongly encourage you to make time to get your coffee and drinks elsewhere. Places like Starbucks and Dunkin are cheaper.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I have severe food allergies and was meeting friends here for lunch, and since I can’t eat anything on the menu I brought a pre-packaged snack. They immediately told me that outside food was strictly forbidden as it’s a health code violation. I would understand this if we were seated inside and the food was opened, but the packages were sealed and we were sitting outdoors. How is my unopened food a health code violation but the bird poop on the table isn’t? Since I didn’t purchase anything (my friends did), they tried to make me leave twice within five minutes of arriving. This cafe is not accommodating, and their staff is rude. I do not recommend.

Owner is extremely rude. Everything is over priced. Met with a friend there and we sat down before we ordered and were told seats are for paying customers only. Are people not allowed to wait for others to arrive first before ordering? Lol. What a joke. However if you are ever walking around campus and need to take a dump- feel free to just use their bathroom and leave. Can’t beat a private stall in the middle of campus! You don’t have to be a “paying customer” to do that.

I’ve been to many many cafes in Fortwayne, Marion, and Muncie and this one completely tops them all. The decor is amazing and the coffee was genuinely really good and had a good flavor. Me and all my friends were very impressed. I recommend the frozen cappuccino it was really yummy.
