It’s not a fancy location but the prices are fair and the food is fresh and delicious. One of the better diner burgers i’ve had in San Francisco, and only $10 for a bacon cheese burger. The loco moco was also perfectly executed. Highly recommend!

Stopped here on my way to work. I had about 15 minutes before I clocked in decided to get a bacon cheeseburger. The owner was very nice accommodating. The food came out hot fresh. It was made with real ground beef not some frozen patty. The meat was very juicy. The bread was very good toasted brioche bread really good Will be coming back every time I come to work in San Francisco. Very great place. Very good food. Nice people as well. Definitely check it out.

Not as fancy as Sam’s next door, but we enjoyed it. 1/4 of my family members preferred the Local Diner. I ordered the french toast deluxe with 2 sausages and 2 bacon. The french toast and sausage were great. The eggs and bacon were Ok. The waffles served with fruit was good. The staff was friendly, overall good experience.

This Local Diner on Market Street close to Van Ness is definitely a hidden gem. They are a family run local business and open early for American style good old fashioned Steak and Eggs which was cooked perfectly and the other dish which I shared with my partner was sausage and bacon with eggs to order and choice of toast or English muffin, and also a choice of home fries or hash browns. My partner and I were starving and it was my first time going to this Diner across from the Whitcomb hotel close to 9th street on Market Street in San Francisco. Both of us weee full and happy with our selections and I highly recommend this local family owned diner for breakfast lunch or early diner. The steak and eggs was my favorite so far out of everything I tried. Will be returning and if you are visiting San Francisco AAA tourist or for a play or just visiting friends I would try this spot out in the morning or early afternoon. It gets very busy on weekends so I recommend going on a weekday is possible. The employees are nice and the restaurant was clean and the food was good! So thanks to the cooks for preparing the food and for the employees for being patient and explaining all the different items that are able to be substituted or not able to be switched around (like half and half of country potatoes and hash browns is sometimes an option-and I like to mix the two potatoes because I’m a foodie..but not available here. Luckily my partner and I always eat family style so we just shared the potatoes and I got to try both which were both very good. I’m a hash brown girl myself and always ask for them to be crispy because I like them cooked well on outside and not too tough all the way thru. Besides no subbing half of my potatoes/home fries for hash browns (most places I find will not do this so As I said before 2 people shared so it worked out anyways. I appreciate their food, friendly and efficient service and their amazing location if you happen to be in SF on Market Street. I’m giving them a 5 star rating due to overall experience and quality of food and service and recommend this diner to anyone in SF for the day or locals to at least try it and support local family yummy restaurants in the city. I will be back soon next time I’m down that way in San Francisco! Yummy and Thank you Local Diner in SF! I have a feeling I’ll be seeing you very soon! Keep up the awesome cooking and service and I’ll keep referring friends and family to you as I was referred to you myself. See you soon and Happy New Years! 2023 will be a great year and I’ll be seeing you at least once a month while I’m in SF from time to time . Take Care and Thanks again for your amazing breakfasts and friendly service! 🙂

Unfortunately I didn’t have a good meal here on this visit. Which is sad because I usually like it here. While walking by today I noticed some new menu items being shown on their front window. So I came in looking to try their new Grilled Salmon dish. I also ordered a side of Bacon for my dog and an Iced Tea. The meal took forever because they lost my ticket. I can forgive that mistakes happen. Then my meal arrived. The Salmon was over cooked and bone dry. Beans and Rice were not hot. My dog loved the Bacon. I hope they can get it together because they are usually good here but then again I usually order breakfast…

Highly recommend!
Besides the fact that everything we ordered was absolutely delicious (breakfast ~ waffles with strawberries, omelette, hash browns, coffee, toast, etc.), the service was top notch. I’m only disappointed in myself for not going here earlier in our trip. We went the last day we were in town, and it was so great, we wished we would’ve been able to go more. The man behind the counter and the one who brought our food out were so very kind. I felt like we actually got to know them in one visit. I will definitely go back next time I’m in town!

We had breakfast on our way to the metro station and I’m so glad we found this place! It’s so good, very affordable and portions are huge! Pancakes were so fluffy and delicious. Cashier is very nice, friendly and accommodating. We could see a lot of locals come here and are regulars, treated like family.

The cashier is RUDE they charged me a $1 because I asked for more butter then they gave me the selfs charged me $1 for a Togo box my husband asked for fresh lime he got lime that had obviously been cut days earlier and the service was completely horrible. I will never go there again the food wasn’t even hot it was barley warm and they was going to charge me more money to make my food hot I was so upset the guy yelled at me because I was paying for my friends b-day breakfast told me he had to pay for himself. I’m sorry but I can spend my money on whoever I feel like it’s not his business who I buy food for DONT GO UNLESS YOU FEEL LIKE BEING DISRESPECTED BY THE STAFF ITS NOT EVEN WORTH IT AT ALL……

I’m sorry to have to leave such an awful review because I love this place they take food stamps and the foods usually really good although almost every single time I order from there the chef gets my order wrong wrong WRONG like this time I ordered 2 super tacos for my husband and a cheeseburger for me. . . The cheeseburger was alright but the tacos were all bad they’re supposed to come with salsa sour cream guacamole and carne asada and onions the tacos I got only had meat and onions nothing else I payed 11$! For that are you kidding me and not to mention the guy who takes my order. Geez! Talk about disrespectful! Just because I’m using foodstamps does not mean I need to wait outside for my Togo order and if u don’t want to make it Togo he forces you to! ALL BECAUSR YOURE USUNG FOODSTAMPS! THATS FLAT OUT DISCRIMINATION AND ITS ILLIGAL YALL!
